kitchen island chairs

I have:
white upper cabinets
wood /cinnamon stained lower cabinets
white oak stained hardwood floor
Gold faucet and pull handles on all door and drawers.
SKIRTING STILL NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO ISKAND.

Question, what color wood or metal and seat material goes best given the colors I’m working with already?

assuming from what I see..... this island is to function for your day to day equivalent of table seating..that means 5-6 stools. I would go the plexiglass clear route to avoid a busy crammed look. It will be busy enough w humans situated there in a good number. Use textured shades /patterned window treatments if you desire interest and more of a statement backsplash when you get to that....... I would keep the island area streamlined as much as possible..a pendant fixture might be the best option for detail .
