Our Story
It's all about quality of life
Gainesville Parks and Recreation is proud of its role in the quality of life our citizens covet. Our agency operates and maintains eight major facilities, 21 parks and over 547 or more acres of park land. We are steadfast in our commitment to building and preserving a parks and recreation system that meets the needs of our community.
More than 100,000 area residents participate in recreation opportunities that improve health, develop skills, build self-esteem, and bring families and friends together. A vital component in our ability to serve our citizens and expand participation is the implementation of our Vision 2030 Master Plan currently in progress.
Gainesville Parks and Recreation is one of the many reasons we love living in Gainesville!
