Ege ReUse is a programme to make sure perfectly good, high-quality carpet tiles don't end up in waste, when they still have many good years left in them. We take used carpet tiles back, clean them, and sell them again - giving them a second life.

An Ege ReUse carpet tile has a carbon footprint of 0 kg CO2e in its A1-A3 fase, which reduces its impact on your project's Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

Four easy steps

to give your used carpet new life

1. INSPECTION

Ege Carpets evaluates the reuse potential of your carpet tiles, either on-site or online. Next, we agree on the process for cleaning and sorting.

2. Dismantling & Packing

Tiles are removed, sorted, and palletized according to Ege ReUse guidelines. You can choose to handle this yourself and receive compensation, or let us manage everything.

3. Collection & Transport

Once tiles are sorted and packed, Ege Carpets arranges and covers the cost of collection and transport for reuse.

4. Preparation for ReUse

Ege Carpets clean, test, and inspect the tiles before approving them for resale and reuse in new projects.

Q&A

Frequently Asked Questions

Quality / When you buy a ReUse carpet tile, you can expect a product in good condition with only minor signs of previous use. The fibers are well-preserved and have a consistent appearance. Small marks or wear may be visible upon close inspection, and slight color variations can occur within the same batch. The backing is flat and fully functional, though minor traces of adhesive may be present. We guarantee that 95% of the carpet tiles are delivered without visible marks. If pressure marks should occur, the carpet tiles can still be used, for example for cutting and fitting.

Warranty / ReUse carpet tiles are covered by a 10-year warranty, just like Ege’s new products.

Lifespan / Carpet tiles from Ege Carpets are designed for durability and meet the highest usage classifications. Our loop-pile carpet tiles have a lifespan of 30 years, while our flat-woven carpet tiles have a lifespan of 60 years. This long lifespan gives used carpet tiles excellent potential to continue their life after their first use.

Certificates / Documentation created for the original virgin tiles does not automatically apply to ReUse tiles, but the original documentation can serve as a reference.

Fire & Safety testing / Every ReUse batch undergoes new fire testing to guarantee safety and compliance.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) / Reusing carpet tiles reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to producing new tiles, contributing to lower CO₂ emissions for your project. According to Building Regulations*, reused materials are included in the LCA calculation with a 0 kg CO₂-equivalent impact over the building’s entire lifecycle.

We offer solutions for full projects using only ReUse carpet tiles, as well as mixed solutions combining new and reused tiles, depending on your needs.

Installation Guide / To minimize the risk of color variation, we recommend installing ReUse carpet tiles in a quarter-turn pattern and using a tackifier adhesive during installation. This method helps create a more uniform visual appearance while ensuring the tiles remain securely in place.
