Meet Carly

I'm a licensed general contractor and interior designer based in Seattle. I work on kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home renovations—primarily in older homes, but also new builds where clients want that old-home charm.

I'm both the designer and the general contractor, which means you work with one team that understands both sides. You don't have to navigate multiple teams or translate between designer language and contractor language. I draw the plans, specify the finishes, and manage the build. If something changes on site, I solve it in real time. If a detail doesn't work, I redesign it.

Creating Steady Ground

A few years ago, a friend told me my home felt "cozy and easy to be in." That stuck with me—because that's exactly what I want for my clients. Not a showroom. Not a space that feels precious. A home where connection happens easily, where mornings run smoother, and where you're not distracted by chaos. That's what steady ground feels like—and that's what we build.

How We Work

Design-driven renovations, not structural overhauls.

We focus on finish-level renovations—kitchens, bathrooms, built-ins, tile/stone work, cabinetry, and millwork. Projects can be a single room or a whole-home update. For additions or major expansions, we're happy to refer a trusted colleague or partner with your team.

Historic homes are my specialty, but the approach translates.

Most of our work is on older homes—Craftsman, Tudor, traditional houses—where details really matter. We love geeking out about things like proper chair rail heights and historically appropriate trim. The goal is making updates feel like they've always been there. But that same level of craft applies to any home—it's what makes a space feel custom, not cookie-cutter.

One team from design through construction.

We create the drawings, specify the materials, coordinate the trades, and solve problems when things change on site. No miscommunication. No finger-pointing. One point of accountability.

Construction literacy matters.

Plans account for plumbing, electrical, code, and budget early. Design decisions are grounded in how things are actually built. That means fewer surprises and better outcomes.
