Cool-Off systems pressure to 1,200 pounds per square inch (PSI). At this pressure, the water is atomized into micron size droplets that flash evaporate and create significant temperature reduction. When blown by our fans it creates a temperature drop up to 35 degrees in any given environment.
Let us help you design the right misting system for you. Send an email to us with a description, drawings, pictures of the area to be cooled and we'll design a system that's right for you. Send email request to info@cool-off.com or call 1-800-504-MIST.
The only maintenance required for a properly designed misting system is a periodic cleaning of the nozzles and an annual check-up for the pump. This check-up may include adding or changing of the oil and tightening or replacing of fan belts (only on the pulley driven pump models), and changing of the filter cartridge. Misting Fan Systems require very little maintenance. We do recommend some preventative care and cleaning for the nozzles.
Our misting fan systems use the process of evaporative cooling, otherwise known as Thermal Dynamics. The hotter it is, the quicker evaporation will occur. The quicker the evaporation, the more heat is used in the energy exchange process and the better our misting fans will work. Critical to this process is the water surface area that is in contact with the hot air. The more surface area, the quicker the cooling process. Just as a loaf of bread has more surface area when it is sliced, the finer the water particle, the greater the surface area. Our patented ceramic MicroJet Nozzles create the finest mist in the industry....1-3 microns small. That gives us the most effective misting system available. Driven by our 1000 psi water pump and attached to various size fans we have a system that is flexible and cannot be matched in performance.

Yes. The evaporative cooling concept will work any time you are able achieve evaporation. The more complete the evaporation, the more effective the system will work. Cool-Off's patented ceramic MicroJet Nozzle releases a droplet size that is 1-3 microns compared to traditional brass nozzles which release an average droplet size of 7-10 microns. For areas with humidity above 80%, temperature reductions will be as high as 20 degrees. For humidity levels between 40% and 80%, temperature reductions will be as high as 30 degrees. Below 40% humidity the temperature reductions may be as much as 35 degrees.
There are many different variables associated with the proper design and installation of a Cool-Off system. The exact application, the needed benefits, and the conditions present at the system location will determine what design is required. Our Technical Support Staff are trained in all aspects and uses of this system and can assist in designing a system that fits the needs of any application.
The human body is designed to operate at 98.6o. When the air temperature, combined with humidity moves the Heat Stress Index (see HSI scale) above 90, the human body becomes stressed. In order for the core body temperature to be maintained at a safe level, two elements are necessary:1.) Convection (wind) and 2.) Evaporation (sweating). As the Heat Index rises, the body produces more sweat in order to cool itself. Prolonged exposure drains the body of vital fluids. This lowers the circulatory volume.
