Tim van Heusden shared thisTim van Heusden shared thisIn 2018, we launched Snap Pack – which cuts plastic use by replacing plastic rings or shrink wrap with glue dots that hold the cans together. Besides cutting material use, Snap Pack also replaces plastic rings that can harm wildlife if they are not disposed of correctly and end up in the environment. In the UK, Snap Pack is already used for 70% of the four- and six-can multipacks produced at our Northampton Brewery. This will increase to 100% by 2024! Less is simply more. At Carlsberg Group, we’re always looking to minimise our environmental impact, but without compromising the quality of our beers. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the future of HSE & to showcase an approach that aims to enhance governance, elevate risk assessment quality, & enable smarter, proactive decision-making at scale. Thank you Ajman University for the opportunity to share my innovation & engaging with valuable feedback. #HSE #Innovation #RiskManagement #AI #Safety #FutureOfWork #Leadership

I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities I had at Nestlé, for the inspiring leaders I worked with, and for the talented teams that walked alongside me across different roles, countries, and challenges. It has been a journey full of purpose, learning, and growth. Nestlé has shaped me as a professional and as a leader, and I leave with a heart full of gratitude, and deep respect for the company and it’s values. To everyone who was part of this journey — thank you. I carry each experience and connection with me as I take my next step.

The 30 delegates, who were Site BCOS leaders or Cell structure team leaders were given a mixture of theory and experience and practice in BCOS tools and techniques. It was a very enjoyable week for myself and thankfully the delegates feedback was extremely positive which all bodes well for the future of BCOS at Callebaut. Many thanks to Marcin Kukula and all the Lodz team for their tremendous support! 😃

Tim van Heusden liked thisTim van Heusden liked thisWhen was the last time you shared a Coke with a friend? ❤ Back in 2011, when Share a Coke launched in Australia, nobody thought putting names on labels would go global. But it did – in over 80 countries. Including Germany. And now, in 2025, it’s back. Not because we ran out of ideas – I promise 😉 – but because it still works. Because in a world that’s moving faster than ever, it’s the small things that remind us how we connect. A name. A word. A bottle you didn’t expect to smile at. That’s what I’ve always liked about this campaign. It’s not loud. It’s not trying too hard. It just works because it’s simple, and simplicity has become surprisingly rare. It works because it’s human. We live in a time where We scroll past a thousand things a day. We double-tap, we swipe, we share – but how much of it actually sticks? That’s where Share a Coke comes in. It slows us down. It pulls us back into the moment, just for a second. And it reminds us that sharing doesn’t always have to be digital, loud, or public – sometimes, all it takes is a simple thought of someone who matters. 14 years laters, it’s still not about the drink. It’s about the people you share it with. And I’m lucky to share mine with the best colleague and business partner John Galvin. 🫶

Tim van Heusden liked thisTim van Heusden liked thisThe health and safety of our colleagues will always be priority one at Carlsberg Group. It was a pleasure to join my great colleagues at the Northampton brewery yesterday as the teams were going through brewery safety week, discussing anything from life saving rules to chemical safety. Our UK colleagues have delivered the biggest improvement in health and safety performance in the recent years, and that passion was felt everywhere in the organisation during my visit. This is a never ending mission. We have a duty every day to ensure that no colleague should ever worry about returning safely to their family at the end of a workday. Thanks to Paul Thomas Davies and the passionate UK team for moving us #TowardsZERO Accidents. #CarlsbergGroup #TTZAB

Non utilisation of skill-one of the 8 hidden Wastes? In a recent Lean Awareness White Belt course that I was delivering, we naturally discussed the 8 hidden wastes. Waste is very fundamental principle of LEAN. ✅ We arrived at the 8th WASTE-non utilisation of skill. Up until a few years ago, there were only 7 wastes, then the important gap of using people to the best of their ability, was added. This 8th waste has been very controversial. For me, the inclusion of people to the best of their ability is a critically important component of business improvement. Therefore, without it, is a waste. But is it worthy of being one of the 7 wastes? ✅ How many times have you been in a situation where you don’t have people with the right skill to fill a gap? Everybody knows the answer but it’s hard to react to fill a gap when people aren’t trained. Then there’s the added issue where people don’t feel valued since they’re not trained to cover the gaps when people are absent. 👏 Recently, I’ve experienced firsthand a business that had enough foresight to cross-train their people, keep them rotating to maintain the skill and they were able to effectively fill gaps when needed. The additional benefit was that the team members felt much more valued that absenteeism reduced. 🎯 How have you handled non-utilisation of skill to remove the skill gap?
