Pierre-Yves Paslier shared thisOn Friday, Prince William called me "the French guy" on Graham Norton. On Monday, the Home Office wrote to say I can be the British guy too 🇫🇷🇬🇧 Coincidence? I'd like to think someone at the Home Office watches the show 😂 London has been home for 14 years. It's where Rodrigo and I started Notpla in a kitchen, where the team grew around us, and where most of the big moments of my adult life have happened. I'm really proud to hold both citizenships now. And very aware of how lucky I am to have been able to move country to chase an idea, and that this country has rewarded me with so much along the way. I believe people moving between countries make them better. London certainly added a lot to me, and I hope I've added a bit back. Next step is a ceremony to pledge allegiance to the King! 👑

He knows his stuff, pitched Notpla really well, talked about off-take, from the London Marathon days to the rollout with Levy, the millions of single-use plastic items replaced and more to come. Crucial line to wrap up this epic shout out: it has to be commercially viable. This isn't philanthropy, this is a business that creates prosperity along the value chain WHILE removing single-use plastics from the equation. Pierre-Yves Paslier shared thisA room full of ocean sailors, by a canal in Hackney Wick 🌊 On the eve of Blue Earth Summit we opened up Notpla HQ to Emily Penn and the eXXpedition crew. All-women sailing voyages, years spent sampling plastic in some of the most remote waters on the planet. The conversation went from plastic in the ocean to plastic in our bodies, and what it actually takes to change things. Our own Karlijn Sibbel was on stage as an eXXpedition crew member and ambassador. Pretty special to have one of our own on the crew. Hamish Shephard, co-founder of HelloFresh, and his wife Rosie Shephard gathered 100 people from 33 countries at Hedsor House & Park for The Hedsor Hundred, around the theme "how to be good ancestors". In partnership with TED Conferences, Roman Krznaric, author of The Good Ancestor book, dived into our relationship with time and how to enable "cathedral" thinking in our ultra high speed era. Fun fact: seconds are a "recent" invention, they didn't exist at the time of Shakespeare. Dan Bennett from Ogilvy exploring how to master behaviour change, and how we don't realise that 95% of our decisions are made without thinking. Chandra Donelson, on how to become Chief Data and AI Officer of the US Space Force (yes, the actual Space Force 🚀). Guy Johnston, world-leading cellist and former BBC Young Musician of the Year, playing his 300-year-old David Tecchler cello under the actual tree that inspired The Magic Faraway Tree. And so many other inspiring ppl. A polar explorer who skied to the South Pole (Jenny Wordsworth), the person who signed Ed Sheeran at 18 and Charli XCX at 15 (Ed Howard), the founder behind #Girlboss (Sophia Amoruso), Jo Malone, the founders of Slack, Calm, Skyscanner, and yes, Ronan Keating and Tinie Tempah ✨ Plus free wellies in our size hehe, proper Gentlemen vibes. Everyone doing such different things… but a similar unreasonable ambition to get something done. Hamish and Rosie, you are from another planet. Thank you for the most inspirational Tuesday 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Pierre-Yves Paslier shared thisNot every day a crew that has sailed the South Pacific counting microplastics turns up in Hackney Wick. 🌊 Emily Penn is bringing the eXXpedition crew to Notpla HQ on 12 October to tell us what they actually found out there, and what they have learnt about getting very different people to work on the same problem. I had my own blood tested for microplastics earlier this year, 100,000 microplastics if you remember... We are opening up the lab for the evening too. A proper tour of HQ, where the material work has got to, and a look at a few things we have not shown anyone outside the building yet. Pierre-Yves Paslier shared thisFirst day of term. Mine was in the House of Commons. The APPG on Microplastics launched its second report, five years after the first. The picture is simple. Microplastics are everywhere. The UK has almost no policy on them. (The only targeted UK regulation is still the 2017 cosmetic microbeads ban, a "micro" fraction of the problem.) No strategy. No timelines. Nothing coordinated across the actual big sources, which are packaging, textiles, tyres, paint, pellets, sewage and agricultural plastics. This new report aims to fix that by asking for five things over five years, including: A UK Microplastics Strategy with time-bound reduction targets and health protection. Design and material standards for high-leakage products like food packaging. A national monitoring framework across our environment and our health. I also got to sit in the House of Commons public gallery for the first time, for Andy Burnham's first ever PMQs. Alberto Costa, Chair of the APPG, used his question on microplastics and pushed for ministerial meetings on the report's recommendations, which the new PM agreed with and mentioned how important the issue is. 🤞🏻 Good to see The Earthshot Prize UK innovators fed into the call for evidence, Matter. and Notpla. Congrats to the driving forces behind this. The Women's Institute, the Global Plastics Policy Centre at Portsmouth, Alberto Costa MP for chairing, jeryl stone and the NFWI team, Dr Antaya March and Cressida Bowyer at Portsmouth. Tom Postlethwaite and August Ford won the 2026 FPA Designer Award. Back in 2014, it was my first year teaching Product and Furniture Design at Kingston University along side the masters: Phil Davies, Kathleen Hills, Carl Clerkin, John Harrison Tom Postlethwaite and August Ford were students in my class, among many other superstars: Ella Holman, Fern Toynton, dominic postlethwaite, Karsan Haval, Will… https://lnkd.in/p/eBDZCbBR 12 years later, we are working shoulder to shoulder at Notpla! Gravity 3D Sketching
Gravity is tool composed of a pen and pad specifically designed for sketching in an augmented environment accompanied by augmented reality glasses. Free from any screen, Gravity allows you to focus on developing your ideas in an intuitive way.
As you start to draw, objects take shape in front of you. Through the landing pad controls, you can adjust the plane in which you sketch, giving volume to your creation.
