Hannah 🌿 Cox posted this10 weeks until the Better Business Summit which sold out every year for three years, then had a year off and is back in January… Last week I promised to break down the budget and our biggest costs... bet you can't guess what they are 🙈 🚀 We're at 12% capacity. To make buying a ticket easier we have: - Updated the ticket page so it's clear you can come as a Guest (thanks Bryonie Mathews) - Added the option to pay by instalments Ticket Tailor | Proud B Corp™ - Added a Community + Summit bundle for anyone interested in joining BBN - Shown The Better Business Network (BBN) members how to enter their code for member price tickets 🚀 The good news this week: - More sponsors confirmed, names to follow once agreements are signed - We've gone from around 300 people on the BBN Platform and App in March to over 800 now. When we did the first sold out summit we had 70 members. - New Summit social assets are in the works, so you can share it with your networks and help us promote! Each ticket costs around £225 for the two days. Here's where that goes: 🥙 39% Food: breakfast pastries, a two course sit down plant based lunch, tea and coffee, both days. It may seem mad that this is the biggest cost, but making your time with us frictionless and creating moments for people to connect is so important. 👩💻 20% Event organising 🏠 9% Everything else that makes it happen: signs, badges, radios, van, website, advertising 🧚♂️ 8% Event crew and production 🎤 8% Speakers and content 🎉 6% Evening events and activities 📸 6% Documenting the event 🤑 4% Contingency, because something always goes wrong 🚀 How we priced it. A Community member ticket is £225, Growth is £200 to make it affordable as possible. Tickets alone don't cover our costs and sponsorship helps us keep it profitable. 🚀 The ethical calls we make. Unlike many events, we pay all speakers and crew rather than running on favours or donate their fee to charity if they prefer. This year we’re also offering a Volunteer Crew option. Rather than paying £225 for a ticket, you can give us 8 hours of your time across one or two days and come to the Summit in exchange. That values your time at around £28 an hour, double the Real Living Wage, because a fair exchange matters to us as much as fair pay. 🚀 Guest tickets cost more on purpose. This is a members first event, and the Community + Summit bundle at £299 gets you a two day ticket plus a year of BBN membership for less than a guest ticket. ⏰ THE DEADLINE Prices go up on Tuesday 1 December. Four ways to help: 1. Book your ticket now 2. Send this to one person who should be in the room 3. If your business could partner or exhibit, message me 4. Tell me in the comments if you're coming, and why? Next week: I’ll share a first look at the programme Links in the comments 👇

Hannah 🌿 Cox shared thisThursday morning I’m in Stockport, talking certifications. B Corp, EcoVadis, standards, frameworks. I get asked all the time where to start, and most people are worried about the same two things: cost and time. My answer: you don’t need a badge to begin. You need to know what you already do well, and what you want to change (but you should join The Better Business Network (BBN) 😉 ) I’ll be on the Future Ready Business Network panel with Stockport Council, chaired by Phill Marples of musicMagpie Thanks to Laura Howarth and Elliot Morrow for helping make it happen. If you’re a Stockport business wondering if certification is for you, come along and ask the people who’ve done it.

Hannah 🌿 Cox shared thisA year ago today I ran the first of 100 marathons across India as Project Salt Run. No real running experience. No financial safety net. No idea how much it would change my life. I’ve been home eight months and some of them have been the toughest of my life. You’ve seen me take my business apart and rebuild it. You’ve seen the highs: a Woman of the Year nomination, the BE100, doubling our membership, nearly 800 people on the BBN Platform. You haven’t seen what it really cost. Success isn’t linear. It can’t always be measured in money, but it still needs money to work. A year on, something amazing is taking shape. And I don’t think the universe has finished with me yet. The documentary is coming. The book is being written. The real story is on its way. Until then, I’m finally doing something I’ve wanted to do for years: making my own videos. The honest, behind the scenes bit of building things that seem impossible. First video in the comments 👇 It would help so much to have you subscriber, like and comment

Hannah 🌿 Cox reposted this11 weeks until the Better Business Summit. Time to start sharing the honest updates…. hannah 🌱 ballard asked me to show the ethical calls we make, JK (Jennie-Kate) McQuinn asked what will be different in 2027 And Hannah Williams picked up on "accountability network", which is exactly what we are. 🚀 Theme is ‘Money Matters’ and we’ve changed the financial model of the event. Reduced ticket prices till November, more focus on Sponsorship. 🚀10% tickets sold. 😅 With the event on 7th and 8th January it’s vital we sell as many tickets before December as possible. Via Ticket Tailor | Proud B Corp™ of course. 🚀 About a third of the sponsorship we need is confirmed. We are behind. I’ve sent proposals to past exhibitors and drafted agreements with three new partners (names once signed). 🚀Larger university venue but keeping Ngunan Adamu and Sophie Jane Lee as our amazing hosts. Hannah 🌿 Cox shared thisWell this was a nice thing to wake up to this morning! ✨🥰Hannah 🌿 Cox shared thisHannah 🌿 Cox's remarkable endurance-running achievements have earned her a place on the Northern Leaders 2026 list. Cox is a director of betternotstop and the The Better Business Network (BBN), but is perhaps best known for her extraordinary fundraising exploits. In February 2026, she completed Project Salt Run, running 100 marathon distances in 100 days and covering an astonishing 4,222km across India. The challenge aimed to raise £1m for environmental organisation 1% for the Planet and has already generated more than £108,000. Another person recognised for his remarkable fundraising achievements is Adam Waugh, a 63-year-old sailor and former stockbroker from Northumberland. In 2021, despite having sailed only in UK waters for two years and never having built a boat, Waugh set about building his own vessel. He went on to sail solo around the world in the inaugural Mini Globe Race, raising £100,000 for the Ella Dawson Foundation. Property entrepreneur Rob Lloyd founded Bearmont Group in 2017 and is a passionate charity fundraiser, serving as an ambassador for charities including Sense and Cancer Research Wales | Ymchwil Canser Cymru. Lloyd has co-authored a book entitled ‘How to Raise Money for Charity and Survive It’ Well known in the North West, he’s raised more than £1.2m for Sense and has also co-authored a book entitled ‘How to Raise Money for Charity and Survive It’. Property professional Conor Flood’s fundraising efforts for brain tumour research are all the more remarkable because he was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of just 28. He completed a 10k run shortly after finishing chemotherapy and went on to run a half marathon alongside his father, Brendan Flood. Other people recognised for their charitable work include: 1. Natalie Kerr: The former nurse and mum-of-two has dedicated her life to raising awareness of organ donation after undergoing a double lung transplant in 2012. 2. Dez Derry: The entrepreneur and exited founder has become a passionate ambassador for Adoption Matters & Foster Care Matters, drawing on his own experiences of the care system. 3. Hannah Barlow & Tom Mathew: The siblings are the third generation to lead family-run Dunsters Farm, near Rochdale, and support a range of charitable initiatives, including Eat Well MCR. 4. Jo Walby: Chief executive of Mustard Tree since 2017, she leads the Greater Manchester charity’s work supporting people experiencing poverty and homelessness. 5. Vic Harper: Since becoming CEO five years ago, Harper has overseen significant growth at The Bread and Butter Thing. The headline sponsor of Northern Leaders 2026 is OBI, supported by law firm CG, GM Business Growth Hub and Rochdale Development Agency. Everyone featured on the list will be invited to the Northern Leaders 2026 awards evening at KPMG’s Manchester office on November 19. Read full list here https://lnkd.in/eW_7zREk #2026NorthernLeaders

It takes a lot for a company to make a positive impact on the world. Countless actions. Constant effort. Real changes. And rigorous measurement. I know, because I do these things every day. And while the work is complex, my commitment to continuous improvement is straightforward. One simple symbol says it all: the B. Sustainability is becoming standard. Measuring 👏 it 👏 should 👏 be 👏 too 👏 That's why we're proud to officially partner with Ashton Gate Stadium as the sustainability reporting partner for its Green Day Delegate Rate – a meeting package that builds more sustainable choices into every event. From now on, every Green DDR booking will include a sustainability report from From Now as standard, giving organisers a clearer understanding of their event's impact and practical recommendations to help reduce it next time 💚 It's a simple change, but an important one. As sustainability expectations continue to grow, it's no longer enough to make good choices. Being able to measure them, learn from them and demonstrate their impact is becoming just as important 💥 A huge thank you to the Ashton Gate team for sharing our vision. We're excited to help more organisations turn sustainability from an ambition into measurable action.

If there is one habit I would love everyone to change this Plastic Free July, it's the disposable coffee cup. I am not saying give up coffee (far from it), just the disposable cup that it comes in. 🍵If you are a consumer, choose to reuse. Find your favourite reusable coffee cup and keep it handy at all times. It should be as close to hand as your house keys. ☕If you are a retailer, you have the largest amount of power. What you choose to supply your customers says everything. Encourage reusable cups, research your biodegradable or compostable cups (if that's the direction you go) and take a firm stance that disposable cups are a thing of the past. Note: not all biodegradable or compostable cups will actually break down as expected. Do your research and question what you buy. Want to know your coffee cup options? Responsible Cafes have a handy guide to start you on your research journey. https://lnkd.in/gFCWJF-8 @ResponsibleCafes @plasticfreejuly #plasticfreejuly #reuse #choosetoreuse

On the loudest night in UK music, we chose to go quiet. At this year’s BRIT Awards Limited, we placed a simple ad in the programme. No spectacle. Just a pause. Why? Because in live music, sustainability often arrives too late: after tours are routed, venues booked and production decisions locked in. And by then, the biggest environmental impacts have already been set. The data is clear: impact is shaped early. This wasn’t about criticising the industry. It was about asking one question: What legacy are we leaving behind when the lights go out? If sustainability isn’t built into the brief, it disappears from the outcome. Our pensions should fund our future, not destroy it. Responsible by default. Not by "opt-in" . My Green Pension | B Corp certified is a B Corp-certified pension platform currently in development and aiming to launch in 2026. The core fund is fossil-fuel screened from day one, meaning every employee is automatically invested responsibly, without having to do a thing. Where our money goes matters. Pensions are one of the most powerful places to put it. The campaign is being run in collaboration with The Better Business Network (BBN). My Green Pension’s #CommitToSwitch campaign is a public pledge from purpose-led businesses who believe their employees’ retirement savings should reflect their values. Where the default fund is sustainable - from day one. No tick-boxes. No complicated opt-ins. With clear visibility into where their money goes and the difference it’s making. For everyone who thinks pensions should do better, including employers, individuals and investors. Make the pledge, alongside a growing community of purpose-led employers who believe retirement savings should reflect their values - not fund fossil fuels: https://lnkd.in/enDqb-uc

We asked team THIS™ what it feels like to work at a B Corp (B Lab UK). We know working at a B Corp means different things to different people, but there’s a common thread: THIS™ shows up in how we work, not just what we say. You can feel it when it’s built in, not bolted on: “I want to work somewhere where I feel proud about not just what we do, but how we do it.” The “how” matters just as much as the “what”. Being a B Corp isn’t just a label, it’s a commitment to being held accountable for how we show up for people, the planet, and each other. “Already I can feel the difference in our priorities as a business, particularly around sustainability and corporate responsibility.” Priorities that are actually baked into THIS™, not tacked on. It’s part of the recipe, you might say. It’s being part of something bigger than just us, a community proving business can have both purpose and performance. And something that really stands out? The ability to call upon other B Corp businesses in the community. It’s pretty special that businesses can connect so easily, simply because they care about running ethically. Do you work for a B Corp? How does it show up day to day for you? #BCorp #BCorpMonth #BusinessForGood #PurposeDriven #ValuesMatter #WorkWithPurpose Mark Cuddigan Debbie Epstein Emily Ashmore Blake Reed Anna Merelie
