Every day I speak with high-potential #finance professionals who want to change jobs, roles, or careers. Their number one fear is that they are too old! They believe they have missed their train and will feel miserable in the same field forever. Let me be clear. You are never too old to look for better alternatives. That's just an excuse because rejection is tough to digest. Here are 5 tips to make a change when you feel that you are too old: 𝟭. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 The years you have spent in a similar or completely different role have given you experience! All you have to do is to highlight your transferable skills. 👉 How you define yourself is how people will see you. What you think, you become! 𝟮. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 You might have to get in from the back door when thinking about a #careerpivot or #careerchange. Instead of aiming for the top 20 players in the new field, aim for the small and medium players. 👉 Position yourself as a hot candidate with up-and-coming employers who will value your experience. 𝟯. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 You must connect the dots for your next hiring manager by answering the following questions: Why are you making this move? Why are you highly qualified for this job? Why are you better than other candidates? 👉 You have already lost if you can't answer these questions before you begin your job hunt. 𝟰. 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 When you network effectively, you can pitch influencers and win them over. A CV is not as strong as a pitch. 👉 We are all humans. We all love a good underdog story with a happy ending. 𝟱. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 Would you care about a personal trainer's age if they showed you several before and after pictures of their clients? 👉 Work on a personal project to prove you possess the right skill set to transition. Bain and OpenAI are working together to bring OpenAI’s technologies via its 18,000-strong team of consultants to its clients globally. Bain will now become a huge distribution engine for Open AI’s tech. What a move this is. According to the release Bain has already embedded OpenAI technologies into its internal knowledge management systems, research, and processes to improve efficiency. This was one of the biggest initial use cases. When ChatGPT first launched, EY’s Chief Technology Officer said “ChatGPT’s killer enterprise use case will be managing knowledge”. Bain listened, executed and now has first mover advantage. Bain went onto say that it will combine its deep digital implementation capabilities and strategic expertise with OpenAI’s AI tools and platforms, (including ChatGPT) to help its clients around the world identify and implement the value of AI to maximize business potential. They even listed leading use cases that are already under development with clients: - Building next generation contact centers for retail banks, telco and utility companies to support sales and service agents with automated, personalized, and real-time scripts, and to improve customer experience. - Boosting turn-around time for leading product and service marketers by using ChatGPT and DALL·E to develop highly personalized ad copy, rich imagery, and targeted messaging. - Helping financial advisors improve their productivity and responsiveness to clients through analysis of client dialogues and financial literature, and generation of digital communication. If you’re not thinking about utilizing AI right now or in the near-future, you will be probably be left behind. Every industry will be disrupted by AI and Bain has taken decisive action to be a part of that next wave of innovation. Forget software, AI will eat the world. Revolution. #investment #tech #instagram #artificialintelligence #microsoft #technology #finance #investing #ai

The team at Gameto for example, is very young and world class. But huge negative for GenZ in NYC: housing costs. At $4000 for a studio in Brooklyn how can people afford a home? NYC needs reasonably priced housing now. Make it easier to permit new construction. Less focus on historical landmarking and more on helping young people find a home. Real estate regulations are the biggest obstacle to happy living for the young in many cities in the USA and Europe.
