Benjamin Penrose shared thisAbsolute joy working with the Flix crew! Thanks John Tearle, Matt Spalding 🔜 Unreal Fest and the entire Flix team for all the genuine passion and energy you threw into this.Benjamin Penrose shared thisVGC: "The thing that really blew me away from my early time with the game is just how ridiculous it looks. There was a moment where I was speaking to the Art Director and I had to just vocalise that, in the nicest possible way, I didn't understand how the game looked so ridiculously good" NO LIES DETECTED. It's so exciting to see gameplay of CLUTCH starting to come out as journalists and content creators finally get hands on with it. Experienced Unreal Engine experts at Flix have been working with the wizards at Maverick Games from an art, engineering, audio, and production perspective and I'm *so* impressed and proud of the work they've done. Will be forever grateful to Maverick for the partnership, and for the opportunity here, and can't wait to see more of the game start to come out between now and launch. https://lnkd.in/e8BMgjzt

Benjamin Penrose shared thisI'm posting this a little later than other members of the gang, mostly because I've been searching for the right words (and a touch of man flu slowed me down...) Last week was one of the most exceptional experiences of my life. A road trip with an incredible group of colleagues and friends, across France through some of the most sublime driving roads with incredible views. I've always been skeptical of large groups spending that much time together, constantly all day. Peoples social batteries get low and things can get strained after a while. Especially in an industry famed for having a good amount of introverted personalities. The fact that none of this seemed to be an issue and that the team looked after each other so well right from the start, was what made this such an exceptional experience. The amazing roads and incredible views would have been nothing without the amazing company. Without being too soppy there was a moment where, as I was making the final few miles back to my real life home, after dropping off the gang in my car "Easel", a few of the other drivers came into radio range as they headed back down the M40. Hearing that final little crackle of radio chatter as the sun was going down over beautiful Warwickshire country side was enough to make my eyes a little moist. I will never forget this guys. Core memories were made! 💜 Big shout outs to Gareth Harwood, Ania Remlein and Elly Marshall for being the best co-drivers. And also huge thanks to Mike Brown and Harinder Sangha for making this a reality. In the words of a well known Maverick Games icon "what a day!" #beamaverick #maverickgames #mav1k #ukgamedev

But this weekend I stood on a stage in front of an amazing audience of thousands of RS fans for the first time ever, and spoke about the content we are bringing to Dragonwilds in December. How could I not when it was cool elf stuff!! Speaking alongside the famous Mod Raven, who really pushed me to step up in terms of delivery! I'll never match his verve for the narrative, he reigns supreme in that nature, but it was a huge career highlight and I'm grateful for him suggesting an outfit change. Just sad the elf ears had to go so folks could hear me. I spoke to so many fans and everyone was so lovely. As someone who is still sometimes socially awkward, you all made me feel like I was among my people. Thank you Runefest for being such an incredible experience. We have some of the best fans in the world. ❤️

Benjamin Penrose liked thisBenjamin Penrose liked thisThought I should finally share this here as I completely forgot to post it here when I finished it! Last year I wrapped up a Star Wars–inspired environment scene, and it ended up being one of my favourite projects to work on. I learned a lot during the process and was really happy with how the final piece turned out. If you’d like to see the full scene and more images, I’ve uploaded everything over on my ArtStation: https://lnkd.in/etcVTfmT
