If You Spot These Nostalgic Shopkins at Target, Don’t Leave Without Them

If you grew up with Shopkins, you probably remember the tiny grocery-store-themed collectibles that came with their own adorable faces and personalities. They were everywhere—and now, they're making a comeback.
It's been about a decade since Shopkins were all the rage, right around the time I started covering toys for a living. So you can imagine the wave of nostalgia hitting once I found out they're available at Target.
Right now, only a handful of items are live—but these particular plushes and games aren't even new releases. That makes me think the brand is teasing the comeback ahead of a bigger return. Here's where it gets even more interesting: Moose Toys, the brand's manufacturer, hinted at an official relaunch with Five Below later this year.

"You asked for it," Moose Toys wrote on its website. "So, after a decade, we've listened. But be quick. Once this drop is gone, it might be another long wait before these Season 1 OG Shopkins come back again."
The brand added that this "limited-edition" season will have two mystery characters inside the iconic blue shopping basket fans know and love.
Moose Toys continued, "Who knows which favorites you might find? Could it be Apple Blossom, Strawberry Kiss, Cheeky Chocolate, or Kooky Cookie? Coming exclusively to Five Below from December 2026 for a limited time." (So keep an eye out once December hits!)
Although the kids who were raised on Shopkins are fully grown, we're not surprised that the brand's comeback is getting lots of love. In fact, fans have been speculating the brand's return since earlier this year, with Reddit users excitedly discussing a revival of Shopkins' Instagram page.
"Now that Millennials are grown up and have their own purchasing power, we're seeing a resurgence of brands they remember fondly from when they were kids. The Littlest Pet Shop is another example," said Deputy Editor Marisa LaScala, who covers all things parenting at Good Housekeeping.
One more thing we're keeping an eye out for: Shoppies. These were the brand's highly in-demand fashion dolls that were a spin-off following Shopkins' success. There hasn't been an official announcement that these will come back, but fans on Reddit and social media are already begging for a return.
As someone who knew about Shopkins from the beginning, I'm excited to see what surprises they'll come up with and how they compare to the originals!
