About
Psyche is a digital magazine dedicated to helping you know your self and live well.
Throughout history and across cultures, philosophers, teachers and thinkers have recognised self-knowledge and self-awareness as the cornerstones of wisdom. If you are interested in living to your full potential, then having true insight into your current strengths and weaknesses is an essential prerequisite. If you hope to be there for the people you care about, then mastering your own emotions will help you help them. If you aspire to live a life of meaning, then understanding your values and beliefs will help you make better decisions and see opportunities when they arise. Psyche magazine is your companion as you explore your inner world and navigate the minds of others.
Psyche is committed to a multidisciplinary approach, covering not only psychology, but also philosophy, history, anthropology and more. We are especially interested in practical knowledge that helps people to navigate their everyday lives. Just as important as the views of experts are the voices of people reflecting on their own journeys in life.
There are many paths to self-knowledge. With a dedication to pluralism and openness, Psyche will help you on your own journey to knowing your self.
“Every Psyche article is commissioned and finessed by our experienced editorial team. Our specialist psychology, philosophy and social science editors handle all factual content, querying it multiple times. We also carefully vet our writers, who include clinical psychologists, psychologist-researchers, teachers, doctors, philosophers and anthropologists.”
– Dr Christian Jarrett, Editor, Psyche
Psyche statement on AI
Psyche is all about being human and living well. We prize expertise born from study, dedication and practice. We place great value in felt, lived experience. The advice, arguments and stories at Psyche all come from a particular perspective earned through effort, living, striving and experiencing – the good and the bad, the highs and lows. Behind our content are people prepared to own and be held accountable for their work.
So where does AI come into what we do? We have no interest in publishing works generated purely by AI. At the same time, we recognise the promise of AI as a tool that can catalyse human creativity, aid research, increase productivity – and help us to distribute our content (hence our recent partnership with 11 Labs to provide AI narration of our articles).
As the technology underlying AI continues to move at pace, we will always take great care in how we use it to support our work. We pledge to continue championing diverse human voices and perspectives, to help you better understand yourself and live well. Our editorial staff, all of whom have deep expertise in their respective fields, will continue to work diligently, hands-on with authors and film-makers who have a personal story to tell or wisdom to share – and who are willing to vouch for what they are giving away. Stay with us on our journey, celebrating and exploring the wonderful diversity of human experience.
We publish new content daily. To be the first to hear about it, sign up to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Bluesky.
