State Privacy Law Disclosures and Notice at Collection
Some U.S. states have enacted privacy laws that grant their residents certain rights and require specific disclosures (“State Privacy Laws”). This page supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to you if you reside in a state governed by a State Privacy Law, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Oregon, Montana, Texas, Utah, or Virginia. This page also serves as our California Notice at Collection.
The tables and descriptions that follow explain the info in our Privacy Policy. The table immediately below uses categories required under some of the State Privacy Laws to explain our general collection, use, and disclosure activities. Following that, we explain our advertising activities, the rights you have under the State Privacy laws, and metrics about how we handle rights requests. As explained in our Privacy Policy, children under 13 are not allowed to use Pinterest.

We have collected this information from you, your devices, our partners, advertisers, and other third parties.
We do not collect or process sensitive personal information about you for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
We keep your information only so long as we need it to provide the Pinterest services to you and fulfill the purposes described here and in our Privacy Policy. When we no longer need to use your information and there is no need for us to keep it to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, we’ll either remove it from our systems or depersonalize it so that we can't identify you.
Advertising Activities
To help personalize the ads we and our partners show you on and off Pinterest, and to advertise Pinterest services to you on third-party sites and services, we engage in activities that may qualify as “sharing,” “selling,” or processing personal information for “targeted advertising” under the State Privacy Laws.
For example, we use personal information, including information we receive from ad partners and other third parties to decide which ads to show you on and off Pinterest, and we disclose info about you and your Pinterest activity to improve the ads you're shown on Pinterest through our third-party ad network partners. We provide info about your Pinterest activity with advertisers to help them measure how their ads perform. We also disclose personal information to third-party services and advertising partners to reach you with ads about Pinterest on those third-party services.
In the preceding 12 months, such activities involved sharing the following categories of personal information with the categories of third parties shown in the table below:

We will obtain your opt-in consent for activities described in this section where required by a State Privacy law, and we do not knowingly “share” or “sell” information about California users under 16.
