  • It’s Not Too Late: The 5 Shifts That Will Change the Rest of Your Year with Ed Mylett

It’s Not Too Late: The 5 Shifts That Will Change the Rest of Your Year with Ed Mylett

What if the best part of the year hasn’t happened yet? If you’ve been feeling stuck, behind, and sick of your own bad habits, this conversation is for you. In this powerful and deeply personal episode, Mel sits down with bestselling author, entrepreneur, and one of favorite people Ed Mylett. They talk about what it takes to stop living on autopilot and start building a great life, at any age. Ed believes you are always one decision away from a different life. But here’s where Ed’s advice is completely fresh and different: Ed says building a great life isn’t about doing more, achieving more, or adding another goal. He knows: The most powerful thing you can do is make room for the life you want by letting go of what is keeping you stuck. After losing his father and facing serious health challenges of his own, Ed was forced to rethink the way he was living. He began questioning what success really means, how much of his life he had wasted worrying, and whether the things he was chasing still mattered to him. What he found, and is sharing with you today, changed the way he thinks about time, confidence, purpose, relationships, and what makes a life meaningful. In this episode, you’ll learn: -How you can change the direction of your life with one decision -The simple life audit Ed uses to figure out what he needs to let go of -How to break the patterns that keep pulling you backward -Ed’s simple tool to stop worry and take back control of your life -To create a different future, even when your current circumstances make you feel stuck -How to build confidence by creating small wins that prove you can trust yourself -To trusting your intentions, even when you doubt your abilities -How “one more day” helped save Ed’s father’s life, and became one of Ed’s most powerful ideas. -Why you are most qualified to help the person you used to be, and how your greatest struggles can become a source of purpose -How helping someone else can pull you out of helplessness and reconnect you with your own value -The daily habit Ed is using to create more clarity, purpose, and meaning in his life -Why waiting until “someday” to enjoy your life is one of the biggest mistakes you can make Ed’s story is a reminder that your mistakes are not proof that you failed. Your past is not proof that you’re stuck. And the experiences you wish you could erase may become the very things that allow you to make a difference in someone else’s life. If you’ve been waiting for a sign that it’s not too late to change your life, this is it. You’re not done. There is still time left on the clock. And your next chapter can start today.

Damals wollte man Kraftstoff sparen.

Hello everyone, I am Nevena. Jelena (00:01) Ja sam Jelena. I am Jelena.  Nevena (00:03) I dobro došli u novu epizodu Unlock Your Serbian sa Jelenom i Nevenom. And welcome to a new episode of Unlock Your Serbian with Jelena and Nevena. That's right, welcome to another episode of our podcast and today we are talking about a nice topic. We are talking about all the things we love to do and that generally fulfill us. That's right, and if I sound a bit strange, that's because I was sick last week, like, I think, the whole world. And because of that my voice is now a bit different and in Serbian we can say that we talk through the nose, when our nose is stuffed or when we have a runny nose and so on and then we can't speak perfectly, then we say that we talk a bit through the nose, so I think that... I currently sound like that, I don't know Jelena, you can also tell me whether yes or no. Jelena (00:58) Mislim da je sada bolje, mislim da ne zvučiš sada tako, ali ranije, par dana, si mnogo više zvučala nazalno. I think it's better now, I think you don't sound like that now, but earlier, a couple of days ago, you sounded much more nasal. This is like when you are learning a language that has nasal sounds in it and then we say speak through the nose. I am referring specifically to French, but there are also Portuguese and Polish which also have nasal sounds. Become a member to read the whole transcript! Send us your questions!

    How to Get Lucky, Solved

Ask most successful people how they got where they are, and the answer is usually some version of "good timing." Everyone else swears they earned it. We're terrible at seeing our own luck clearly, and even worse at realizing how much of it we could create. In this episode, Drew and I get into why: the psychology that makes us deny luck even exists, and what changes the moment you stop pretending everything is earned.  We start with Warren Buffett - why a man worth tens of billions says the single most important thing that ever happened to him was where and when he was born. Then there's Napoleon, who picked his generals by skipping the résumé and asking one question: "Is he lucky?" And we brought in Annie Duke, a former World Series of Poker champion who’s spent more than a decade studying decision-making, to explain why we keep confusing good decisions with lucky outcomes. There's also a stretch on survivorship bias that'll make you rethink every success story you've ever heard. Luck comes in three layers. And the research shows you have far more say over two of them than anyone ever told you. If you want to take the hand you were dealt and play it better, this episode is for you.
