Love Gap Relationships & It Started With An Argument About A Dish Rack

Should you love your partner exactly as much as they love you? Holly, Jessie and Em can’t agree, and one of them has a bedtime ritual that might settle it. Then they name the famous couples who aren’t quite equally in love. All speculation of course. Tom and Zendaya, we're looking at you. Plus, it started with an Amazon dish rack and a broken wine glass, and ended with a 30-part TikTok series and nine million views. Em unpacks the New York roommate war the internet couldn’t stop picking sides on, and Holly reveals some of the wild stories of her old sharehouse. Also, Taylor Swift says Brad Paisley once released thousands of live crickets onto her tour bus. Jessie has questions about men and pranks. And, in this week’s reccos, a TV show that’s almost too obvious to recommend (but we couldn’t help ourselves), a book people keep thinking is full of typos and a hair product Em didn’t know she needed. We’re so excited to be selected for Apple Podcasts Creators We Love, which recognises people who are trailblazers and leaders in podcasting. Elon Musk’s Endgame

Ahead of the midterm elections, Elon Musk has become the single largest campaign donor in any election cycle, giving about $450 million to Republicans. It is just a fraction of a percent of his near-trillion-dollar net worth. Musk’s control over SpaceX, Starlink, X, Tesla and Neuralink, on top of his riches, has given him power over wealth, attention and critical infrastructure that few human beings have ever amassed before. What does he want to do with all this power? What is he trying to buy with his campaign spending? What is the world he wants to build? Quinn Slobodian is a professor of international history at Boston University. He’s the author of “Globalists,” “Hayek’s Bastards” and, most recently, “Muskism: A Guide for the Perplexed,” which he co-wrote with Ben Tarnoff. Offcuts: A Spooooky Halloween Special with your Ghost Stories & Psychic Medium Kerrie Erwin

Hey Lifers! Welcome to a very spooky Offcuts, your little Halloween weekend snack! 🎃 The plan was to come in costume. The plan did not go well. Laura’s had an emergency with Matt’s costume box, Britt is riding something inflatable, Delilah came as Chucky, and if you’re not watching on YouTube, now is the time. Then we get into your ghost stories, and you sent in a lot! A commuter is saved from falling by hands on her back in an empty train carriage. A baby monitor photo that Britt and Laura can’t agree on (we need you to weigh in on socials). Britt also shares a deeply personal ghost story she has never told on the podcast. It had us both in tears. Then we’re joined by psychic medium Kerrie Erwin, who has more than 40 years of experience talking to the dead and clearing haunted houses. Kerrie tells us how she was trained, why she burps whenever a spirit is nearby, and what it’s like being “Samantha from Bewitched” married to a very skeptical lawyer. She also does a remote clearing of Britt’s apartment, yes really! And finally, the moment we’ve been waiting for: skeptic Laura gets a reading. Has she been converted? You’ll have to listen to find out. Jon Ronson investigates the men looking for purpose in strange, dark places

When journalist Jon Ronson visited castle owned by a digital tycoon, it became a portal into a world of disaffected men, grasping for purpose online in a world where traditional institutions are collapsing. He had received a series of texts from his son Joel, after he was lured to a mysterious castle in the forests of New England late one night, and those texts set him off into an investigation of the modern manosphere. Jon began to investigate the wider ‘man crisis’ – where some are feeling tossed around in a sea of conflicting ideologies of what it means to be a man today. From the death of utopian factory towns to the false promise of YouTube influencer culture, Jon shows us our rapidly changing world like never before, and the men caught in the middle.  He found a world drained of purpose, of collapsing institutions, in which a new era of disinhibited behaviour has taken hold of our online and real-world selves. The Castle is published by Penguin. Jon is currently on tour in Australia. He is speaking at The Melbourne Town Hall this weekend. This episode of Conversations was produced by Meggie Morris. Executive Producer is Nicola Harrison. It explores masculinity, culture wars, gender wars, Musk, Trump, tech billionaires, Marc Fennell, manosphere, Louis Theroux, Peter Thiel, Hugh Hefner, Dan Bilzerian, Andrew Tate, Chris Mark, the castle, sons, fathers, fatherhood, death threats, murderers, ChaptGPT, AI, Google Gemini, Artificial intelligence, psychopaths, Zuckerberg, Argentina, anger, disenfranchised men, angry men, ICE, United States, Donald Trump, Nerd Reich, politics, silicon valley, gender wars, class war, race war, Louise Theroux, investigative journalism. To binge even more great episodes of the Conversations podcast with Richard Fidler and Sarah Kanowski go the ABC listen app (Australia) or wherever you get your podcasts. There you’ll find hundreds of the best thought-provoking interviews with authors, writers, artists, politicians, psychologists, musicians, and celebrities.

    Uncanny Halloween Special

This Halloween, Danny Robins takes his paranormal partners-in-crime Ciaran O’Keeffe and Evelyn Hollow on an after dark excursion to allegedly one of the most haunted locations in Britain - the Tower of London. This is a place soaked in some of Britain’s bloodiest history, where Anne Boleyn was beheaded, Guy Fawkes was tortured, and the Princes in the Tower were said to have met a grisly end. There are long-running rumours of hauntings all around the building, but are they real? Danny meets current and former staff, including Chris, a retired Beefeater whose experiences in the Tower are the stuff of nightmares, and Lee, who also says he saw something supernatural in the very same room. Alden Gregory, curator of the Tower, tells Danny about the ghosts that have been spotted there over the years. But are these experiences paranormal, or a manifestation of the psychological stresses of living surrounded by so much gruesome history? Recorded on location at the Tower of London, this is a chance for the Uncanny team to get their boots on the ground and find out. Written and presented by Danny Robins Editing and sound design: Charlie Brandon-King Music: Evelyn Sykes Theme music by Lanterns on the Lake Commissioning executive: Paula McDonnell Commissioning editor: Rhian Roberts Produced by Danny Robins and Victoria Lloyd Executive Producer: Simon Barnard A Bafflegab and Uncanny Media production for BBC Radio 4

Selects: Salem Witchcraft Trials: More Bonkers Than You Know

Looking back 300 years on, it’s easy to overgeneralize why the Salem Villagers decided to persecute (and execute) their neighbors. But as much as this story has become an American history chestnut, we still don’t understand why Salem lost its mind. CHAPTER 424 Ft. Blake Baggett

After YEARS of silence, Blake Baggett FINALLY speaks! Once one of the most respected and talked-about riders in motocross, Blake seemingly disappeared from the sport, leaving fans wondering what REALLY happened to El Chupacabra. Now, six years after his last professional race, Blake sits down with Jase Macalpine for Gypsy Tales Chapter 424 to tell his side of the story, and we finally get some answers! The 2012 Pro Motocross 250 Champion built his reputation on unbelievable speed, legendary late-race charges, and a willingness to push the limits of what was possible on a dirt bike. During his championship-winning season, Blake famously jumped the Freestone wall, sending it further than any other rider, a jump even James Stewart wasn't willing to go for. Then in 2017, after suffering a devastating thumb injury, Blake continued racing with Velcro on his grips just to help him hold on to the handlebars. But despite everything he'd accomplished, Blake's career came to an unexpected end in 2020. Just two weekends after winning a moto, he walked away from professional racing and never lined up again, leaving fans with more questions than answers. For the first time in years, Blake looks back on the moments that defined his career, what really led to his departure from racing, and the life he's built since. From one of motocross's most exciting talents to a completely different life away from the spotlight, El Chupacabra finally tells his story. 00:00:00 Intro 00:03:27 Welcome Blake Baggett to Gypsy Tales 00:06:22 Why Talk Now 00:11:24 Making Millions Racing and After Racing 00:15:06 The Start of Baggett's Pro Career 00:20:00 Blake's Level of Fitness 00:22:14 First Pro Contract 00:26:50 What Mitch Payton saw in Blake Baggett 00:32:10 Pro Circuits Dominance 00:36:30 Riding on the Edge 00:44:27 James Stewarts Level of Speed 00:49:51 James Stewart Riding Style 00:59:35 Blake's Relationship with Aldon Baker 01:08:03 Blakes Motivation to Win 01:10:56 Bonus Money in Supercross 01:19:16 Wanting to be the best 01:27:44 Building an App 01:38:07 Blake Baggett 2012 Freestone Wall Jump 01:45:29 The Best Era of Motocross!? 01:50:13 Hangtown moto 1 2012 01:57:28 Blake Baggett's Son 02:08:50 Testing Factory KTM parts 02:14:24 Passing Eli Tomac at Thunder Valley 02:19:06 Blake Baggett Almost Returned to Racing 02:21:34 Why Blake Baggett Retired 02:35:55 The Day Blake walked away 02:50:10 Crushing it in Business 03:01:02 Blakes Goals in Business 03:07:58 Blake's Financial Goals 03:20:09 Making it in Business 03:39:58 Closing 🔵 Yamaha Motorsports https://www.yamahamotorsports.com 💧 Order SOTA Fuel “Gypsy Juice” https://sotafuel.com/products/sota-fuel-hydration-30-pack?variant=42103959945258 🧤 FIST HANDWEAR: http://www.fisthandwear.com CODE: GYPSYGANG for 15% off Save 25% on Blud Lubricants with code GYPSY https://www.bludlubricants.com/collections/barracuda-blud Follow the Gypsy himself 👇 Jase Macalpine https://www.instagram.com/jasemacalpine/ 🛒 Shop Gypsy Tales merch: https://gypsytales.com 📸 FOLLOW GYPSY TALES ON INSTAGRAM: @gypsytalespodcast Listen on Spotify/Apple → https://pod.link/1335551721 💼 Business inquiries: ethan@gypsy-tales.com See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
