Traffic gives our cities life, but increased congestion is challenging the flow of people and goods. Across the United States, traffic is getting harder to predict and more expensive to leave unchecked. How are cities, states and planners managing transport networks in the face of rising complexity? 🚦 See how New York, Texas and California — three states with differing infrastructure and growth patterns — are each taking their own unique approach to improving congestion and safety across cities and regions. ⚡ Read the full article here 👉 https://lnkd.in/en_nv_CF

I’m Emrah, I am a software engineer in ADAS, working on identifying road features from images and placing them on maps. 🗺️ One of the biggest technical challenges right now is processing data at global scale as we move from development to production. A recent highlight was reprocessing and improving 108 million traffic signs across six continents. Crazy… I know My week is a mix of office and home office days. Wednesdays start with a long commute, which I use to catch up on messages and learning before team meetings and a packed day, ending the day with sports. Fridays start early, giving me space to wrap up the week and enjoy the Friday at the office with free lunch and table football with my team. Home office days are structured, starting at 08:30, with lunch break, exercise when possible, and wrapping up around 17:30 for some family time. What I like most about the Amsterdam office, besides the colleagues and good coffee, is flexibility. I can collaborate with my team in the office, work from home when I need deep focus, and work from my home country during my kids’ school holidays. What excites me most is TomTom’s transformation. Over the past year, we’ve reached major milestones: launching the new TomTom app and building strong partnerships and collaborations, including CARIAD and many more. Being part of where the company is headed, and doing so within a supportive and open culture, is truly rewarding. If you’re considering joining, my advice is simple: reach out to a TomTom’er. You’ll find people who are friendly, curious, and just a little geeky. Want to join Emrah’s team? Check out ADAS open roles in the comments 👇 #lifeattomtom
