Today is the day! Blender 5.2 LTS has entered Beta. What’s next? 🔸 Download 5.2 LTS Beta and test if your files work correctly. 🔸 Report bugs and help make this release stable for everyone. 🔸 Be first to try features the community will be talking about soon. What’s new? These features are worth trying first: 🔹 Online asset library - Host libraries remotely, browse them inside Blender, and download assets on demand. 🔹Cycles texture cache - Cut memory use and startup time on texture-heavy scenes. 🔹Loop Tools - Circle, space, and flatten from the beloved add-on, now built into Blender. 🔹Hair/Cloth dynamics - Node-based physics simulations powered by Geometry Nodes are ready for the test drive. 🔹Rendering – new Thin Wall mode in Principled BSDF is here to render leaves, paper and other meshes with minimal thicknesses in a more photoreal way. 🔹Geometry Nodes - New Bevel node, Geometry bundles, lists, a new sample sound node to pull frequency data from audio, Empty objects now support Geometry Nodes and so much more. 🔹Grease Pencil - A brand new Fill tool and updated brush library. What’s on the splash screen? This mighty, roaring animal is Panthera spelaea, depicted in artwork by Joanna Kobierska, a 3D artist focused on extinct fauna. The piece is based on a lion sculpt by Ken Barthelmey. ⬇️ Download: https://lnkd.in/eNwNCRWQ 📖 Full release notes: https://lnkd.in/etD65nth 🧡 Support Blender Development: fund.blender.org #b3d

Following Blender development is now more straightforward. Today we are introducing a dedicated Roadmap page where artists, contributors, and the wider community can follow ongoing projects and in-development features. Move from a high-level overview to technical details in one click: each entry links to the relevant tracker issue, pull request, design discussion, or development blog post. The Roadmap highlights long-running work that shapes upcoming releases. For artists and studios, it clarifies what is actively being built and what to expect in the near future. For contributors, it provides insight on how to connect with existing project threads. It is only part of the bigger picture. Development also involves triaging, maintenance, bug fixes, documentation, and day-to-day module work. That side of Blender is equally essential, and always open to new contributors.
