Magic City ToolBank
empowering our Community with Tools For Change
Birmingham's nonprofits and community groups do vital work. We make sure they have the tools to do it. They borrow what they need, stretch their budgets further, and get more done.
What We Do
we serve our shared Community By sharing tools, equipment & Expertise
From community gardens and neighborhood cleanups to festivals, volunteer service projects, and disaster response, we provide the tools for the countless ways communities come together to make a difference.
Community Group Support
When community groups rally volunteers to make a difference, we provide the tools and equipment that help get the job done. Our support powers projects ranging from neighborhood cleanups and community gardens to large public events.
Disaster Services & Support
In times of disaster, we reduce barriers to recovery by waiving handling fees and providing access to essential tools. When local needs exceed our inventory, ToolBank USA's Disaster Services can deploy trailers of additional equipment to support response and rebuilding efforts.
Building Change
Through our Building Change program, we connect volunteer teams with meaningful service opportunities by organizing hands-on projects that benefit local charities. Participants enjoy a fun, team-building experience while building picnic tables and benches that strengthen community spaces.
Tools for Our Community
Our inventory includes more than 4,000 tools. If your project needs it, there's a good chance we have it ready to lend.

Our Impact
by the numbers 2025
2025 was our first full year of tool lending. This year, we're on track to double the number of groups we serve and orders we fill. This growth means more projects completed, more volunteers engaged, and stronger communities across the Magic City.
