Cognizant to hire about 25,000 freshers in 2026
IT services major Cognizant on Wednesday said it aims to hire about 24,000-25,000 freshers in 2026 as part of its strategy to expand "bottom of the pyramid" workforce. The hiring target represents an increase of approximately 20 per cent over its 2025 intake, where the company onboarded close to 20,000 graduates.

We’re not perfect, open to inputs from government: Zepto’s Palicha after meeting labour minister Mandaviya
After meeting Union labour and employment minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the Zepto cofounder said the quick commerce company supports government initiatives and is open to constructive suggestions. Additionally, Palicha said Zepto has created employment for more than 180,000 delivery partners and over 40,000 store personnel, truck drivers and warehouse operators, adding that rivals such as Eternal-owned Blinkit, Swiggy, Rapido and Urban Company, among others, have also played a key role in supporting the gig economy.

Tech giant Meta said Wednesday Australia's ban on social media for under-16s is sending youngsters to less regulated platforms, making them less safe. Lesser known chat and image sharing apps Lemon8 and yope, which are not currently listed in the social media ban, have shot up the download charts in Australia.
