Liquipedia:Notability Guidelines

Please note that inclusion of pages in mainspace is ultimately up to the discretion of the Liquipedia administrators.

Sadly, not everything can be added to the wiki. We want all our pages to be as up-to-date as possible and to meet our quality standards in general. That is made harder the more pages are created, not to mention additional factors, such as the fact that lower ranked teams tend to not have social media where they announce transfers, and so on.

If you disagree with the decision for a certain page, please do come chat in our Discord specifically in the #deltaforce channel. Any pages that do not meet these guidelines will not be deleted, but will be moved to your user space.

How Notability Points Work

Notability is determined by a points system based on a player's or team's performance in tournaments. The number of points awarded depends on the tournament's tier, its type (e.g., General, Monthly, Qualifier), and the placement achieved.

The final score is a cumulative total of all points earned from various events. You can check the current notability score for any player or team using our calculator:
Notability Checker

Points in Operations tournament

Tier Top 6 7th - 12th >12th
S 20 15 10
A 10 7 5
B 5 2 0
C 0

Teams and players will need 30 points to be considered for page creation.

Players/Coaching Staff

[edit]

Who and what to add?

[edit]

Players & coaching staff may receive their individual pages, as long as they surpass a certain threshold of notability. If your chosen player/coaching staff fits in with one of the criteria as follows, then he/she likely warrants a page on this wiki.

  • Previous history: If the player was a notable player/coach in another game and has participated in a B-tier main event (or higher);
  • Achievements: If the player has achieved enough notability points;
  • Impact: If the player has made notable impact towards the development of the game/esports scene.

To get started, follow the guide at Player Template for how to build a player page. New pages should have a relatively complete automatic transfer history updated in Portal:Transfers.

Regarding Managers

[edit]

In general, coaching staff would only include (Head) Coaches, Positional Coaches, Training-Related roles, and Analysts. Given the grey area regarding Managers, managers are excluded from both being included in TeamCard representation and a dedicated page, they may still be able to be tracked in transfers normally if necessary.

Teams

[edit]

To create a team page or not to create?

[edit]

Team pages may be created as long as they surpass a certain threshold of notability. This means fulfilling one of the criteria as follows:

  • Achievements: The team has achieved enough notability points;
  • Partnered/Franchised: If the team is a partner/franchised team in a Pro League (eg. Delta Force RISE Series in Americas/EMEA/Korea, Delta Force Pro League);
  • Previous history: The team a well-established esport organisation (at least 2 other active teams with pages in Liquipedia) and participating minimum 1 Tier A Tournament. In case 1 Organization have more than 1 team, then wait until participating 2 tournament.

Team pages should not be created for:

  • Classic start-up team with no history and no organization
  • Random stack hastily created to compete in a Qualifier
  • Team does not have a known transfer history
  • The team has no significant achievements

To get started, follow the guide at Team Template for how to build a team page.

Points Requirements
Page Type Points
Existing Pages No Requirement
New Pages 40 pts

The tables on the left show how the points requirements to meet notability are calculated. Please keep in mind that they are only a guideline and that admin decisions are final until circumstances (new events broadcast or missing events added) change.

If the broadcast talent in question also has results as a player or coach, they will also be taken into consideration when notability is being determined. If the broadcast talent in question has pages in other wikis, they would be given a page if they cast any A-tier tournament (qualifier included).

Any pages existing prior to these new guidelines or any subsequent changes to them will not need to retroactively meet the new standards; they will be left untouched.

Additionally, broadcast talent needs to participate at least 1 A-tier event to be eligible for a page.

What are some basic requirements for a tournament page?

[edit]

Minimumly, a tournament page should provide the following information:

  • Team Information
  • Tournament Format & Bracket
  • Results
  • Dates & Location of competition
  • Live streams for the competition, if any

In addition, the following is preferred:

  • Rulebook
  • Player IDs, roles, and nationality
  • Banpicks & Match Duration
  • Caster Information, if any

For tournaments with huge open qualifiers with much of the requirements unknown (for example, Player IDs), we will recommend a smaller coverage (eg. Top 16 or Top 8) for the tournament. Pages who do not meet the minimum information requirement will be moved to userspace until such information is provided.

What falls into what tier?

[edit]

The majority of events are decided by the ladder with respect to the major international events. In general, here are the principles we use for deciding the tiering for the tournaments:

Community Tournament Classification

[edit]

The following 3 factors are considered for whether a tournament should be in which tier:

  • Official Support from Tencent Games/Team Jade/Garena,
  • Number of main rosters of Partner Teams/Top Community Teams in the League (at least 6, or 50%, whichever is higher),
  • Prize Pool

Note that a tournament's tiering will ultimately be always at administrators discretion.
To get started, follow the guide at Tournament Template for how to build a tour page.

Series Pages

[edit]
  • A tournament may be considered for a series page, following completion of at least three editions of the tournament as covered on the wiki.

User pages

[edit]

Completely optional, but make your userpage a good indication of who you are!
Feel free to be friendly or use some Userboxes to spruce things up!

Should you be logged in, Click your Username at the top right and choose User in the dropdown.
Do keep in mind that User page cannot be searched normally in the wiki search bar and certain templates might not function properly.
