We are excited to share that a research team led by Yoshiharu Hayashi at Sony has published a study in Scientific Reports, addressing the challenges of sorting large particles in flow cytometry.🎉 In this work, the team developed a new approach to enhance the stability of droplet formation, essential factor for efficiently recovering large particles such as hydrogel microcarriers, double emulsions, and cell spheroids. By optimizing the parameters, the researchers achieved significantly higher recovery rates during the sorting process. We believe this advancement offers valuable benefits for researchers working in fields such as immunology and cell therapy. It enables functional cell analysis applications—including antibody discovery and cytokine secretion profiling—while maintaining the high throughput advantages of conventional flow cytometry platforms.
