I’ll be focusing on managing our partnership with Amazon, and I can’t wait to tackle the challenges that this collaboration will bring—which I’m already getting a taste of in these first few weeks. I’m happy to be able to grow in the world of e-commerce and sales, looking at it from the perspective of another major market such as Beauty Luxe, and to manage a complex but stimulating partnership such as the one with Amazon. The incredible potential of AI, consumer insights in one of the world's most dynamic beauty markets, O+O and Super-App ecosystems were just some of the topics that fueled our discussions. It was a privilege to share this journey with an amazing group of 32 colleagues from every continent and all divisions of the Group. During my recent visit to Italy, I had the pleasure of speaking with Milano Finanza about Italy’s importance for BAT as a strategic hub for innovation, manufacturing and next‑generation products. Italy plays a unique and vital role in our global supply chain and innovation agenda: ✅ 80% of the machinery used across BAT’s factories worldwide is sourced from Italian companies, and more than 80% of BAT Italy’s partners are local SMEs. ✅ The country’s stable, forward‑looking regulatory and fiscal framework helps keep illicit trade among the lowest in Europe, a sharp contrast to markets where restrictive policies have pushed consumers toward illicit products. Our long‑term commitment continues through tobacco purchases of up to 15,000 tonnes through 2028, supporting more than 400 Italian SMEs, and through sustained investment in the Trieste Innovation Hub, where €500 million is being deployed through 2027. With 16 new production lines now operational, Trieste is set to create 2,700 direct and indirect jobs over the next five years, further strengthening Italy’s role as BAT’s European centre for next‑generation, non‑combustible products.
