Slow, outdated and irrelevant. Now the conversation is changing, West Bengal plans to bring in modern trams from abroad to revive and modernize one of the city's most iconic transport systems. And honestly? This isn't just about nostalgia, It's about solving urban problems with proven solutions. Modern trams are cleaner, quieter, energy-efficient, and can move thousands of people without adding more cars to already crowded roads. The world's best cities didn't become great by building more traffic, they became great by building better public transport. While most cities chase shiny megaprojects, Kolkata is betting on something simpler: Move more people, waste less space. Build for the next 50 years. And that's not old thinking, that's smart thinking. Plus, sometimes progress isn't about replacing history, it's about upgrading it.
