What can a team build in 24 hours when given the freedom to experiment, solve problems, and think differently? At Gameberry Labs, our recent hackathon brought teams together around two themes: Smarter Games & Smarter Workflows. Here’s what those 24 hours looked like: New ways to play. From Hatch Me If You Can!, a PvP game where players catch escaping chickens, to Legends of Ludo, which adds RPG-style attacks to classic Ludo, teams reimagined familiar gaming experiences. Smarter ways to build. Game Forge explored making game creation easier, while Loopright used specialist AI agents to take ideas from market research to playable prototypes, testing, and evaluation. Teams making things happen. People brainstormed, tested ideas, worked through challenges, and built prototypes under a tight deadline. Projects like Playgram, an Instagram-style experience for games, and Bug Bounty, a QA scouting concept, showed the range of ideas explored. Congratulations to our winners, Yash Gupta Koushik Das Vikasa R B Vishwas Singh for Smarter Games and Parvezali Polra Vishwas Kemparaj for Smarter Berryvengers, along with all the runners-up and teams who took part. The hackathon may be over. The work doesn't have to stop here. The next step is to look at these ideas, understand what has potential, and explore which ones we can take forward. Because sometimes, 24 hours is all it takes to get an idea moving. A big shoutout to our judges for taking the time to review the ideas, share their perspectives, and help make this hackathon a success! • Great hires aren’t found by chance. They’re found by asking the right questions. Gameberry Labs recently wrapped up a two-day “Hire the Best” interviewing skills workshop with Navgati. We explored how to: • Structure interviews around clear competencies • Listen for specifics instead of generalities • Recognise and challenge our own biases before they influence decisions • Look beyond a great resume to identify genuine potential Because great interviewing isn’t just about asking questions, it’s about making better, more thoughtful hiring decisions.

  • Our VP of Games, Gins Lukachan was invited to Gyaan Adda at the National Institute of Design, Bengaluru, to speak with design students on decoding the gaming industry and building a portfolio that actually gets read. "Should I admit I used AI in my portfolio?" Gins: "Yes, say it out loud. Assume AI was involved in everything you open now. Hiding it only makes you look evasive when the interview exposes it. Nobody penalises AI use. Everybody penalises pretending." Some highlights from the session: → A portfolio isn't a gallery, it's an argument. What did you decide, why, and what happened? → One playable prototype beats ten beautiful mockups. → Everyone's portfolio got prettier these last two years, so pretty stopped being evidence. Judgment is the scarce thing now. → And the one nobody expects: every design discipline has a door into games. Information design into live economies, retail design into in-game storefronts, universal design into accessibility. Not just game design. • 🚀 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 #𝟭 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆! If your game isn’t evolving every week, it’s already losing players. In our latest blog, we unpack: 🧠 The psychology driving live ops (FOMO, novelty, competition & progression) 👤 Why one-size-fits-all calendars are dying and hyper-personalization is the future 🎮 How we at Gameberry Labs are building Live Ops as a true strategic engine, not just an “events team” Live Ops isn’t decoration. It’s infrastructure. It’s the difference between a game that launches strong and one that generates revenue for a decade 💰 If you’re in mobile gaming, live ops, monetization or game design, this is worth your time. • Our Director of Strategy Pawas Shrivastava was invited back to his alma mater Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow 11 years after graduating, to speak with PGP students on Strategy in Tech in today’s fast-evolving world. He shared a few hard-earned insights from the trenches of building a consumer tech company: ⚙️ The frameworks remain same, but their application has changed dramatically. 🏆 Winning companies don’t necessarily have better strategies, they have shorter experimentation cycles. ⚡ They discover they’re wrong fast and act on it faster. 🔁 In tech, strategy is no longer a plan to execute, it’s how to maximize learning rate. 𝘐𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘳𝘢 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘺𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘴, 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘺. We’re grateful to give back to the institutions that has shaped Berryvengers and even more excited to keep building games that millions love.
