Here’s a quick tip that many of you probably already know, but I only learned recently (thanks Ido Bar-noam!): When you’re working with Claude and notice you’re asking it to do the same task repeatedly, ask it to create a skill. I also asked it to remember to do this in the future, so I don’t have to think about it. Without a skill, Claude has to figure out how to do the task from scratch every time, and that burns tokens. With a skill, the instructions are already written, so it just gets on with it. It also helps with consistency - the result comes out the same way every time. This matters even more on bigger projects, like building an app or running complex analysis. Claude does a lot of things in the background that you don’t always see, and some of them it repeats again and again. Asking it to turn those into skills is where the real savings are.
