𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗜. 𝗔𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁. Veteran investor Yaakov Weinstein recently made an unpopular prediction: 👉 Toward the end of this decade (around 2028–2029), global markets may face a deep downturn — on a scale not seen since 1929. Not because of a single crash. Not because of one obvious bubble. But because 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁. A few key points behind his view: Equity valuations, especially in the U.S., are already stretched. Sustaining them requires unusually strong and persistent profit growth. AI may boost productivity in the short term, but trillions in investment still haven’t proven they translate into durable profits. Demographics are turning into a headwind: Baby boomers are retiring, consumption slows, healthcare costs rise. Fewer workers means slower growth in pension inflows — a structural issue markets haven’t priced in. Real estate, long the engine of the “wealth effect,” has stalled — in both the U.S. and Israel. Short term? 2026 will likely still be a positive year, though with more modest returns. Governments and central banks will do what they can — mainly through rates and mortgages — to support households. Long term? This isn’t about a minor correction. It’s about 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲. My takeaway: The real question isn’t whether markets can go higher from here — it’s 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝘀. Because when optimism fades, liquidity tightens, and narratives break — Only strategy matters. Short Bio - Yaakov Weinstein Current role: Manages the IBI Total Return hedge fund and serves as an advisor to other funds at the investment house. Previous roles: Chief Investment Officer at Migdal Capital Markets; founder of Afikim Investment House. https://lnkd.in/dKmbVH5n

#startups #productmarketing #GTM #productlaunch Took advantage of my morning ride to meet Israel to catch up on TrashTech טראשטק's episode (in Hebrew) with Weavy's Lior Albeck - thanks Omri and Yoav! Weavy's story is unique not only because of their mega-exit (from $4m seed round to $200m acquisition by Figma in <18 months), but more from the valuable lessons on startup velocity, the importance of understanding your target audience, and zagging when everyone zigged (product). Here are my three key insights for early-stage teams: 1️⃣Identify a real pain before building the solution. Their team, ex-Fiverr VFX pros, saw how professional creatives are drowning in AI tools - getting one good AI output (eventually...), yet having zero flexibility when the client wanted changes. 2️⃣Complexity can be your moat. Pros don't want (or need) 'easier', like other vendors were pushing for. VFX practitioners respect the craft. They need control. They want to share node-based (yes) workflows internally to speed up production and delivery. 3️⃣Finding (or at least striving to find) the right product balance between good enough to ship and perfect, with a 'killer feature' (sharing) that created growth among their customers. Roadshow+ by Poalim Tech and Calcalist כלכליסט brings leading Israeli VC funds together with selected Pre-Seed to Series A founders for focused 1:1 conversations about their companies, fundraising strategy, and next steps. At this stage, the decisions that shape a company’s next round tend to be practical ones: how to sequence the raise, which milestones to prove first, and how investors are likely to read the risk in the business. Founders get the most value from honest feedback and context on those questions, and a 1:1 setting makes that conversation easier to have. There is also a longer-term logic to it. In venture, relationships compound over time, and some of the most useful ones begin well before there is a round to discuss. I will be there in November with Glilot Capital.
