Thank you Microsoft for Startups for hosting!Daniel Ziv שיתף את זהWhen I became a venture investor in Tel Aviv back in 2016, most Israeli startups followed the same basic recipe. Raise initial capital. Set up R&D in Tel Aviv. Relocate to California ASAP to raise, hire, and sell. In 2026, that recipe no longer holds for every company. Building in AI, infra or compute? The Bay Area is still where everything happens, and nothing comes close. But if you're working on anything else, California shouldn't be your default. Working on financial services? Go to New York. Software or healthcare services? Consider Boston. Defense, entertainment, or crypto? Miami can be an excellent choice. Of the three, Miami is where I see the most momentum. Aleph is already invested there (shoutout Reeco!) and we're looking to deploy more. That was the focus last night at Miami Tech Gateway, sponsored by Microsoft, where I joined my friends Ayal Stern, Itay Rand (10D), and Daniel Ziv (Glilot Capital) on the investor panel. Plenty of Miami folks were in the crowd, many of whom flew in this week to vote. Israeli builders expanding to the U.S., which city are you setting up in? Why?

Nvidia רכשה את Illumex בכ־60 מיליון, ו־Traceloop ו־Jit נמכרו השנה בפחות מ־100 מיליון. במקום שישראל נמצאת בו היום, אני מאמין שנראה עוד הרבה עסקאות כאלה, בשביל הטכנולוגיה או הטאלנט. ככה זה נראה כשתעשייה מתחילה להיבנות. רכישות כאלה הן חלק מהדרך של החברות הגדולות להתאים את עצמן לצרכים המשתנים של השוק, ואני בטוח שלישראל יש עוד מה להציע לעולם בבניה של חברות גדולות שמשנות את תעשיית ה AI.

The gaming payments platform has appointed Ronen Morecki as its first chief operating officer, bringing in a veteran of monday.com, PayU and ZooZ to help scale its operations. Appcharge has raised $89 million and reached $1 billion in annualized direct-to-consumer transaction volume, and now aims to extend its payment infrastructure to other app categories, including subscription, fitness, education and AI apps. Alexander Lee spoke to Morecki about his new role and Appcharge’s ambitions to take its DTC model beyond games. “I’m a payments geek, so I’m very passionate about solving payments problems, and I think that Appcharge is really in the forefront of the future of how to take payments in the right way, and games is a great way to do that, and a great challenge to solve,” Morecki said.
