Issue: #

Brief Summary

  • Vulkan 1.3.236.0 has been removed. 1.3.296.0 (The final 1.3.x) should be used instead.
  • Allow clang 16.
  • CMake 3.x should be specified as CMake 4 is not compatible.

  • The host machine has
    • nvidia-driver/bullseye-backports (535.183.01)
    • /usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/nvidia_icd.json from nvidia-vulkan-common
    • cuda 12.2 (binfile)

After checking out this branch, this command worked

PYTHONPATH= TAICHI_CMAKE_ARGS="-DTI_WITH_OPENGL:BOOL=ON -DTI_WITH_CUDA:BOOL=ON -DTI_WITH_VULKAN:BOOL=ON -DTI_BUILD_TESTS:BOOL=ON" ./build.py --python=3.13 --shell

python setup.py bdist_wheel -p manylinux_2_31_x86_64

Note about PYTHONPATH=. My .bashrc configures PYTHONPATH but it break the anaconda (prevents zstd-packed .conda) launched from build.py.

Then I got taichi-1.7.3-cp313-cp313-manylinux_2_31_x86_64.whl , pushed to https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/p09kprqu1qktetfg8jcr0/taichi-1.7.3-cp313-cp313-manylinux_2_31_x86_64.whl?rlkey=qald5w74liwomq7viko46251w&st=pog3h2u9&dl=0

Please redirect your PR to master, rc-v1.7.3 is for v1.7.3 (an already released version)

I sincerely apologize for the additional PR noise (#8701, #8678). Due to
my initial lack of Git proficiency, I inadvertently created redundant
PRs while attempting to sync with upstream. This new PR (#8703)
consolidates all changes with proper rebasing.

Thank you for your patience, and I appreciate your guidance throughout
this process.
