q/README.md

Corey Bertram

I build systems, teams, and occasionally small weird tools.

Most of the interesting work is not in public repos. This is the visible edge: experiments, side quests, old open source, and a few forgotten links.

Things

  • vesta - structured data -> Vestaboard messages (vestaboard.tools)
  • magtag-home - low-power Adafruit MagTag home display for wifi qr codes, weather, home assistant, and more
  • circuitpython-datadog - CircuitPython client for sending metrics to Datadog
  • django-simple-history - original creator of the Django model history library, now maintained by Django Commons
  • brutal - async multi-network chat bot framework from my Netflix era

Notes

  • I like boring infrastructure that makes ambitious products possible.
  • I care about product shape, how engineering teams work, and the parts of software that do not fit neatly in code.
  • I have spent a lot of time around scale, failure modes, ecommerce, observability, political tech, and chaos engineering.

Talks

Now

  • Tinkering in public more than I used to.
  • Making more of the work visible.
  • Looking for product ideas.
