Recently several tools have been released in the R-world in what it looks like an effort to catch up with what Astral.sh has done for python.
I cretead packages for some of these tools on AUR - ArchLinux's user repository, and some have been added by the tool's developer. A list below. A small handy web page that tracks all of these is at r-devs.com.
