👋 Hello, I'm Nick and I'm an AI Engineer, currently living and working in Geneva, Switzerland. I'm mostly interested on the Generative AI domain with a strong focus on AI Agents. Currently working in my free time on my core project Protolink, a python framework for lightweight and minimal boilerplate Agent building. It extends Google's A2A protocol as a standalone, lightweight alternative to LangChain.
Protolink now powers the ProtoAgent Ecosystem, essentially an open-source, local-first alternative to Claude Code focused on locally deployed small LLMs (Ollama, LM Studio and more). By decoupling the architecture into a unified monorepo, the ecosystem is split into three distinct layers:
- ProtoAgent Core: The centralized Python "brain" of the operation. It utilizes the lightweight protolink library to handle all the heavy multi-agent orchestration (Architect ➔ Explorer ➔ Coder), system prompts, and tool routing.
- ProtoAgent CLI: A blazing-fast standalone terminal agent built in Rust that embeds Protolink via PyO3 for zero-setup local execution.
- ProtoAgent ACP: A Python-based server that brings Protolink's orchestration natively into your favorite code editors (like Zed and JetBrains) via the Agent Client Protocol.
