Development, infrastructure and tooling for Wargames Minecraft and Wargames Hosting as a part of our Wargames Official Systems.
The Wargames Development Group (WDG) is a small-scale development team responsible for the software, infrastructure and custom content behind the wider Wargames project.
Our work is divided across three closely connected areas:
Project coordination, development standards, repository management and technical direction across the Wargames ecosystem.
WDG maintains a mixture of original projects, compatibility work and maintained forks of existing open-source software.
Our primary development work supports the Wargames Minecraft project, if you are interested join our discord server!
This includes:
- Minecraft 1.7.10 mods and server systems
- Maintained and extended forks of existing mods
- New mods to replace or fill gaps in 1.7.10 content.
- Server-side gameplay and administration systems
- Performance and modern-Java compatibility
- Modpack infrastructure and development tooling
Much of the code used by the Wargames server is developed privately while it is under active development, and some is intended to be released once completed.

Wargames Hosting is the infrastructure and services side of WDG aimed for producing specialized modded minecraft hosting.
It provides the systems used to host, distribute and manage Wargames services and is being developed around a connected set of Wargames specific tools.
Primary services links include:
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| www.wargames.host | Main Wargames Hosting website and onboarding |
| solder.wargames.host | Wargames modpack distribution and Solder platform |
| panel.wargames.host | Wargames server-management platform |
Public development in this area currently includes wgh-browser-extension, which integrates Wargames Solder workflows with the Technic Platform.
The majority of WDG's production code is kept private because it is either:
- Specific to the Wargames server and infrastructure
- Under active development
- Closely integrated with private server configuration or systems
Projects are made public where appropriate, particularly maintained forks, compatibility work and projects that may be useful to the wider Minecraft modding community.
Public repositories should not be interpreted as the complete Wargames development stack.
