If you select a model element in the modeling project, the properties view is not updated so you can't edit the selected element.

In EMF Compare, when you select an EObject in the tree viewer it works, see: https://github.com/eclipse/emf.compare/commit/68544606e62e5a091275929688fcc39cf25a9d07
