How To Beat the Bully in ARC Raiders
The Bully is a formidable foe in ARC Raiders, combining the most dangerous elements of the Shredder, the Leaper, and the Bombardier, but with unique attack patterns that make it almost unstoppable.
To make things even worse, the Bully has powerful ARC plating protecting almost every piece of its body. Combine this with the high mobility of the Leaper, and its ability to rush at high speed, and escaping from it on foot is basically impossible.
Observe the image above: The yellow ring indicates the effective range (AKA danger zone) of its primary ranged attack, a Cluster Bomb that releases a carpet of 8 grenades that explode, causing heavy damage and slowing you down.
At close range, the Bully will start using a shotgun turret that can quickly spin in a 360º radius, making escaping a chasing Bully a difficult task. The projectiles have quite the spread, and a lot more damage falloff than the Shredder's, but they're still lethal. Facing a Bully head-on is not advised.
Then, there's the bull-rush. Like the Leaper, the Bully has the ability to cause severe damage and knock down Raiders. Taking all of the mentioned attack patterns, there's a clear method of dealing with the Bully: To stay on the high ground and harass it with a Hullcracker, a Rascal, or a Modified Anvil with (X-Rounds) Explosive Bullets Amplification.
Use the Snap Hook to quickly climb and move around buildings. Target the Bully from the safety of the rooftops, then jump again when it uses its Cluster Bomb attack.
Now, there's also a way to deal with a rushing Bully if it happens to catch you at ground level: To shoot its joints. The joints are the vulnerable spots of the Bully, and can be shot down to cause it to fall briefly, giving you a window of opportunity to run inside a building or to climb into higher terrain.
When defeated, the Bully will most likely drop between 4 and 6 Bully Fragmenters, and this is the loot you want to grab before other Raiders come rushing (down from the hills) to take it without having to fight this walking behemoth. Aim for the body first, as this guarantees a Fragmenter every time, then look at the top part of the legs for more Fragmenters.
