Changes to taxonomy templates

[edit]

Hi, you made a number of changes to taxonomy templates based on doi:10.3897/zookeys.1141.97349 {{doi}}: unflagged free DOI (link), reducing genera to subgenera. However, this has made the taxoboxes in relevant articles incorrectly set up (with the genus in the taxobox code actually being a subgenus) and inconsistent with the text of the article. Problem articles right now are:

Could you fix these articles please? Peter coxhead (talk) 06:43, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Peter,
I overhauled Penaeus species list, created Fenneropenaeus (for the "white" shrimps), and have been gradually updating the text of some (sub)genera (Farfantepenaeus, Litopenaeus) and species, to reflect Chan 2023 and the latest WoRMS "accepted" status. I was trying to keep the taxoboxes consistent with the new text.
I can revert the taxoboxes until all after each one's species' texts are all done.
Is the reclassification likely to be controversial, and if so, what's a good venue? Most of the species are redlinks, and many of the articles appear to be low activity. I guess indicus, vannamei, and setiferus may have interested editors?
(I also have a navbox to roll out where I don't know whether to be bold or seek approval.) ⁓ Pelagic ( messages ) 23:37, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
