Don't worry about making an article perfect. Just make it better.
This user's talk page is monitored by talk page watchers. Some of them even talk back. Their input is welcome, and their help with messages that I cannot reply to quickly is appreciated.
I'm trying to report userpage for speedy deletion and/or administrator attention (WP:AIV or WP:UAA). I haven't reported or tagged for CSD yet. Also it's not in English (it's apparently in Telugu). Can you please help me out what is the best course of action? Thanks. --みんな空の下 (トーク) 04:59, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
First course of action should probably be to leave a message on their talk page so they know the content isn't appropriate for Wikipedia. Perhaps they'll take it down themselves, which would be ideal. Eventually, AIV would be better than UAA, because it's not the username itself that's the issue. and there is no reason why she should not be included in a list of notable people from this town. It's not NYC, it's a small town, people would enjoy knowing a hot actress was from here —Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-27347-36 (talk) 17:30, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
The reason is that Wikipedia has criteria for being included in lists like the one you edited, namely notability. The way we usually judge that is by checking to see if someone has a standalone article here. If you think Melissa Mascara fits within the guidelines at the link I just left, feel free to write an article using reliable published sources, then she can be added to the list. Have been trying to add one of George Mason's longest-running journals So to Speak to the list (since phoebe and Fourth Estate are already on there). Keep being denied even though plenty of outside sources. Are you able to assist?

In Wikipedia you aren't able to get your family blood lines so if i was on Wikipedia and I was trying to get information about my blood line I couldn't and lots of people that are related to noble familys like if you were related to the queen or king you could get blood line. And i find that unfair so could you put the family blood lines upon Wikipedia please. ~2026-26127-61 (talk) 11:27, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Got it. Sorry for the delay: actually OUTSIDE in the garden dealing with weeds and such. You're always welcome to snag another admin for things like this if I'm not around. I don't mind if someone else adjusts a block. Joyous!Noise!01:44, 25 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not sure if you're aware or not, but those disruptive temporary accounts at this article (primarily adding completely unrelated images in the infobox) are stemming from Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Agustin Sepulveda Venegas 2004 Fan. My guess is that he decided to go to this article instead since usual target The Lawnmower Man is semi-protected.
Already have an SPI case for the latest temporary account (thank you for already blocking it- though hoping for maybe a sleeper check to happen) and requested protection for Lawnmower Dog at RPPI. Magitroopa (talk) 03:24, 28 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Itsjuenyin has given you a fresh piece of fried chicken! Pieces of fried chicken promote WikiLove and hopefully this piece has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a piping hot piece, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Bon appétit!

Hi. What do you do when someone adds a copyrighted work to a Talk page? See this. I'd rather that it just be deleted, but I imagine you know what to do. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:25, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Offhand, I'd say so. Lots of sourcing for all your statements and well-organized. Be aware that I do almost no article review, so....take my opinion for what it's worth. 😀 Joyous!Noise!02:11, 19 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello Joyous.
I want to be an admin so i can delete pages, move them, edit fully-protected pages. GCRNumber1fan (talk | contribs) 15:21, 26 August 2026 (BST)
Welcome! I'm glad you want to take on more responsibility here. To start: do a lot of editing! An account must be 30+ days old and have 500+ quality edits to request adminship. That's the minimum. Really, you'd need more experience than that, because adminship isn't granted by a single person: it's through a vote, so you'll be under a bit of scrutiny to demonstrate that you understand the rules here. It's hard to get admin without at least a year of experience and a few thousand edits. A start might be to look at some of your edits that have been reverted and figure out what was wrong. I think you'd benefit from reading over this page about using the more common name for countries. Joyous!Noise!16:03, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Joyous! I saw you reverted vandalism about a supposed dog killing on the Korean Air page from a temporary account. Just now, another temporary account also made a comment about supposed dog killings on the airline, which I reverted. Could these accounts be connected, (someone using multiple IPs for vandalism, Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry via temporary accounts?) Didn't want to file a report yet so I thought I'd notify the other editor who was involved. Thanks (User talk:~2026-48362-88) Edlectro28 (talk) 14:19, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
They don't seem to be on the same IP, but with so much use of VPNs, I don't know for sure. Since the edit you reverted mentioned a "collective," it may be a few people working together. Joyous!Noise!15:53, 7 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Dear Joyous!, Roadgeek75 keeps ignoring me and won't listen to me. So please ban them immediately. GCRNumber1fan (talk | contribs) 18:12, 14 September 2026 (BST)
I'd suggest you take the conversation with Roadgeek75 to the talk page of the article in question: perhaps you can get some input on your dispute from other editors interested in the article. Roadgeek75 has done nothing that warrants blocking.

The administrator elections process has officially started! Qualified editors are encouraged to find at least one experienced nominator. Self-nominations are also allowed. Please review instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2026/Candidates.
Here is the schedule:
September 29–October 5: Nominations phase (we are here)
October 8–12: Discussion phase
October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed. However, in practice, few candidates succeed without ~10K edits, some content creation, no recent behavioral issues, and a nominator.
The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

Following an RfC, late signatures added to administrator recall petitions after 720 hours from opening are reverted or struck and do not count towards the threshold, even if the petition has not yet been formally closed.
The post-May 2026 administrator elections RfCs concluded with consensus for election monitors to curate blatantly inappropriate questions after posting, and to remove or merge true duplicates, clearly marking merged questions. Calls for candidates will include advisory guidance that users with less than one year’s experience or 5,000 edits generally lack a realistic chance of success.
Technical news
Interface administrators no longer need to specify the ResourceLoader option in the definitions for gadgets on MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition as gadgets are always loaded through ResourceLoader. (T298199)
The list=abusefilters API module now supports formatversion=2 and includes breaking changes to its responses. In particular, the actions property is now a JSON array rather than a string, regardless of the format version. Maintainers of user scripts and other code using this module should check compatibility and update their code as needed. (T435828)

Please just make them indefinite. It makes it much easier to see previous disruption and blocked accounts in article histories. When the three month block expires they just show as expired rather than blocked unless you specifically look at their block log. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 18:40, 5 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
On 13 Oct, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for.
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Hi, Joyous!, and thanks for your contributions. I noticed that you have used user warning templates like {{uw-mos1}} to advise or warn users about MOS issues, such as at this user Talk page—thanks very much for that.
The {{uw-mos1}} template has always suffered from vagueness;if you look at that example on the user's talk page, you'll notice it doesn't say anything about what MOS rule they broke, making it nearly impossible for the user to understand: 1) what they did wrong, 2) how to fix it, or 3) how to avoid making the exact same error next time. In brief, if used without additional wording, the uw-mos1 template assigns blame without explanation or remedy, and is virtually useless to help a willing user improve.
But, good news! The template has been revamped with new features, in particular, a couple of different ways to signal exactly what MOS rule was broken. There are two new parameters you can use for this: |issue=, and |longissue=. Please take a minute to go over the new doc at {{uw-mos1}} about how to use the new params; see especially sections §§Notes and Examples. Next time you need to advise a user about a MOS style issue, please try out the new features to help the user understand better what they are being templated for.
October 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase (we are here)
Scrutineering phase
In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote has a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall candidates must achieve 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Was deleted in 2005 at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lunny for going against "Wikipedia's policy against genealogical articles" and "giving no information whatsoever". Surname articles (such as the new version of "Lunny" I'm creating) are now accepted on Wikipedia, however, so I think I should be fine. I'd appreciate it if you could find an old copy of what the "Lunny" article looked like just before its 2005 deletion, though, so I can compare. Duckmather (talk) 16:54, 30 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
