Hey Funk. I'm trying to drum up some eyes on my FAC nom for Daher al-Umar as we're getting down to the wire on it. Since you reviewed the FAC for a similar figure, Fakhr al-Din II, I was hoping you could take a stab at it, time and willpower permitting ;) Thank you, --Al Ameer (talk) 16:10, 24 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I reviewed the GAN, so I probably don't have much more to add, but I'll have a look at the changes since and drop a support to keep it afloat. FunkMonk (talk) 16:25, 24 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Funk, I appreciate it (and completely forgot you were the GAN reviewer, its been so long) --Al Ameer (talk) 19:33, 24 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

It was more than ten years ago, after all! It seems to have changed significantly in the meantime, though, so I'll give a closer look to the edit history. But yeah, I usually abstain from FAC reviewing articles I GAN reviewed, but it seems FAC is particularly slow these days, so this will be the second time in a week that I have to support a former GA I reviewed. We're getting old bro... And yes, I've put in good deal more effort on Daher al-Umar since GAN; my parents are from Galilee so working on this and the related articles have been of special interest to me. I know you're quite busy so thanks again for donating your time ;) --Al Ameer (talk) 13:22, 25 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hehe, but still going strong... And as I think I mentioned once, half of my family is from northern Lebanon, so it's nice to see that content about the history of the area is being improved, especially because of the intense attempts to erase it. And speaking of, did you see the weird post-GAN comment the GAN page got at the bottom? Later blocked as a sock-puppet... FunkMonk (talk) 18:07, 25 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
