ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:17, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
Colleen Jones
[edit]Hi. I noticed you've been working on the article Colleen Jones. I wanted to let you know that the article is currently at Wikipedia:In the news/Candidates but is being opposed due to lack of citations. I figured you might like a chance to do some quick cleanup to get the article listed on ITN. Cheers, MediaKyle (talk) 02:49, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out. The article is still a work in progress, but I'll see what I can do.-- Earl Andrew - talk 14:16, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Howdy. Concerning the 2022 Conservative Party of Canada leadership election infobox. You'll find that a certain editor who keeps re-adding 2026 & a none existent article, won't stop. Their history shows that they're a 'slow burn' with such persistence & with little to no communicating skills. GoodDay (talk) 21:00, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I noticed that myself. If they return, perhaps a block will be in order.-- Earl Andrew - talk 21:40, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

File:Gordon Hudson.png
[edit]
Hi Earl Andrew. You uploaded File:Gordon Hudson.png using a {{PD-URAA}} license but also provided the file with a non-free use rationale. So, you're saying the photo is no longer eligible for copyright protection and has entered into the public domain but also saying the file is still under copyright protection and needs to be treated as such. You can go either way if you want, but you really can't do both at the same time. You seem to have done the same thing with respect to File:Murray Macneill.png too.
If you feel either photo is indeed within the public domain, you should replace the non-free rationale template you used for the file's description with Template:Information. On the other hand, if you feel that the photo is still under copyright protection, you should replace the "PD-URAA" license with an appropriate non-free one. The long the files remain as is, the greater the chance of a WP:BOT noticing the conflict between the licenseing and non-free use rationales, which could cause the files to be removed from whatever pages they're being used on. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:09, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing this out. I've gone and used the Information template. -- Earl Andrew - talk 14:20, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
