Links to draft articles
[edit]
Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Chinese characters and Collation. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 11:01, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Stroke-based sorting article
[edit]Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! jengod (talk) 05:37, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
July 2023
[edit]
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Chinese word-segmented writing. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Deauthorized. (talk) 01:22, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- The old article was a draft, and I did not submit it.
- Still need to use move?
- Thanks Ctxz2323 (talk) 07:01, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ctxz2323: It's alright, an administrator merged the page history for the draft and the article, so no further action is needed. Just do remember next time that you can move the page to main-space via the move page function. Thanks for your help here! Deauthorized. (talk) 15:55, 13 July 2023 (UTC)

Walt Yoder (talk) 03:34, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
- I already replied a bunch at the AfD, but if your article is kept in mainspace (which still looks likely; good luck!), it might set people's minds at ease to add {{under construction}} at the top, and {{empty section}} to the sections without content. That should let everyone who doesn't bother checking the history know that you're actively working on the article. Folly Mox (talk) 02:59, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi Ctxz2323. You new article, Chinese character internal structures, is missing a cite for "Yin 2004". There "Yin 2007" and "Peking University 2004", but no "Yin 2004". Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit]
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Chinese character IT into Modern Chinese characters. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:03, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
- The section in Modern Chinese characters is a detailed summary of Chinese character IT, a page I have recently created as a subtopic article, which is at least three times longer than the section.

- I will explain it a different way. It's okay to copy from one Wikipedia article to another, but when you do so, you need to provide attribution. This is done by saying in your edit summary that the material was copied, and where you got it. Please have a look at this edit summary for an example of how it is done. Please let me know if you have any questions, or have a look at WP:Copying within Wikipedia for more information. Thanks, — Diannaa (talk) 10:51, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello, late congratulations on the editor of the week award! Can I ask you why these two articles exist separately from each other? The topic is certainly very interesting, but the two articles are extremely redundant, since large parts of both articles' content is either exactly the same, or very similar to each other. Since both articles are pretty much about the same topic, the only way I see to solve this redundancy would be a merge. Would you be open to merge these two articles into one, retaining all the information that is exclusively written in each of them? --CaptainOlimar42 (talk) 21:30, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your attention to the two articles. I agree that there are quite a few similar contents. The reason why they exist separately include:
- 1. In China, both terms of “Class of 1977 (77级)" and "Class of 1977-1978 (77-78级)" are popularly used, and they are not the same. "Class of 1977-1978 (77-78级)" include “Class of 1977 (77级)" and “Class of 1978 (78级)". Because these two are similar in some aspects (though not the same), instead of writing another article on "Class of 1978 (77-78级)", I wrote "Class of 1977-1978 (77-78级)".
- 2. As the first cohort of university student after the resumption of the exam, “Class of 1977 (77级)" should have its own article, instead of being merged with some other class.
- 3. Another important reason is: article “Class of 1977 (77级)" can also serve as a good introduction to "Examination 1977" or "the resumption of college entry exam in China", which are quite important topics too. While article "Class of 1977-1978 (77-78级)" would not be focused enough. Ctxz2323 (talk) 14:41, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- If merge, we can only merge "Class of 1977 (77级)" into "Class of 1977-1978 (77-78级)" .
- But as you can check from their Page information pages, the former has got much more visits from the readers. Ctxz2323 (talk) 23:09, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- I would definitely agree that the Class of 77 should have its own article, since it seems like the more significant one. But the Class of 77-78 article indeed has interesting additional information that would not fit the Class of 77 article. So upon further inspection, I guess it doesn't hurt having two separate articles. Maybe I will try to reduce some of the redundancies by doing more cross-linking between the articles. Thank you for your comments and insights! --CaptainOlimar42 (talk) 00:28, 10 March 2024 (UTC)

The article Xing Ruiming has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non notable
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bedivere (talk) 04:08, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
- Please consider the following information relevant to the notability of the article:
- Ms. Xing Ruiming was the founding head of the first girls’ school in Jieyang, now a city with a population of more than 5 milians according to wiki article Jieyang.
- The article is on women, about whom we have been encouraged by Wiki to write more.
- The counterpart Chinese wiki article 邢瑞鳴 has recently passed review and been rated Start-class.

Notice regarding Hunan Coal Group
[edit]Hi Ctxz2323, thanks for creating the Hunan Coal Group article! Regarding the "Event" section of this older version, please refrain from presenting news in the press release format of stating the source, reporting location, and date before the content, as the footnote already contains this information. I shifted the story of Daoxiong's sentencing to the history section. Additionally, please try to include the website name, so readers know which information comes from the company, Chinese government, or business reporters. Thanks! - Hello, Ctxz2323,
- I don't know why these pages were moved to Draft space but it looks like you recreated these redirects in main space. Liz Read! Talk! 06:11, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Liz Read! Talk!
- I don't know why they were moved to Draft space either. But it looks like a mistake: What is wrong to redirect "Chinese character information technology" to its short form 'Chinese character IT"? And "Chinese character information processing" is another synonym. That is why I recreated the redirects and agree with your Speedy deletion of the draft files.

Ways to improve Sheng (volume)
[edit]Hello, Ctxz2323,
Thank you for creating Sheng (volume).
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
Article meets notability, but has prose issues- only the characters and no pinyin is given in places, its mostly just table-needs more prose, and repeats information.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|DoctorWhoFan91}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

I have sent you an email with questions about the YES sorting order
[edit]I am trying to reach you via Wikipedia because I can't find another means to contact you.
I am interested in the YES sorting order, and you are the only one of the two coauthors who is contactable. I asked many questions about the YES sorting order in the email I sent, and I apologize if it's too many.
I emailed you rather than posting my questions on this webpage because my questions don't directly relate to Wikipedia or the Wikipedia articles you wrote about the YES sorting order method. However, I am fine asking the questions here if that's your preference.
I appreciate your time! PhalanxDown (talk) 04:04, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your interest in YES. Yes, we can talk here.
- You might have used the email account I used before retirement from the university, which is not accessible to me anymore. Sorry about that. Ctxz2323 (talk) 05:49, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
- Is there a YES stroke-input method (IME)? I was surprised I could not find one, given the intuitiveness of the method.
- Why was such a sorting order not developed sooner? I am accustomed to alphabets, where the need for a sorting order is obvious. It is obvious to me that previous Chinese sorting orders are not well suited to Chinese characters. Stroke-and-radical sorting order takes too long to use, and phonetic sorting orders (regardless whether Pinyin or Bopomofo) defeat the point of writing Chinese in a (partially phonetic) logography.
- Do you, your coauthor Xiaotong Li, or anyone else use the YES sorting order in daily life? How popular is this method in the Sinosphere? Do you advocate for the widespread adoption of the YES sorting order? What barriers are there to this method's adoption?
- I think logographic writing like Chinese writing is equal, or superior to, alphabetic writing, but the best scholarship I could find about logographic writing like Chinese is decisively negative. My favorite scholars think Chinese writing is absurdly burdensome. The scholars come from a tradition of scholars who advocated for the complete alphabetization (Latinization) of Chinese writing. Part of their argument is the sorting, encoding, and retrieval difficulties of Chinese characters. Your method, its effectiveness, and popularity might offer a counter-example.
- Another of the criticisms against Chinese characters is the inability to make or the great difficulty to disseminate new Chinese characters. Would the YES sorting order be able to accommodate new Chinese characters? Do or would Chinese people make new characters? PhalanxDown (talk) 17:03, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- Q2: Why was such a sorting order not developed sooner? I am accustomed to alphabets, where the need for a sorting order is obvious. It is obvious to me that previous Chinese sorting orders are not well suited to Chinese characters. Stroke-and-radical sorting order takes too long to use, and phonetic sorting orders (regardless whether Pinyin or Bopomofo) defeat the point of writing Chinese in a (partially phonetic) logography.
- A: Agree! It should appeared earlier. Maybe, people were, and still are, more adhered to the old methods and firmly believe that there are no alphabetical order possible for Chinese characters. Ctxz2323 (talk) 01:02, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- Q3: Do you, your coauthor Xiaotong Li, or anyone else use the YES sorting order in daily life? How popular is this method in the Sinosphere? Do you advocate for the widespread adoption of the YES sorting order? What barriers are there to this method's adoption?
- A: Yes, Xiaotong and I use the methods in daily life, using the hardcopy handbook, or the other applications introduced on YES stroke alphabetical order. YES is not popular yet, and I do hope for the widespread adoption of the YES sorting order. One important barrier is "few people know it, and less really know it"! Ctxz2323 (talk) 01:21, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- What information does the handbook contain? Does the handbook contain any new information not already included in the 2015 conference paper or the Wikipedia articles? I cannot read the handbook because it is written in Chinese (I think I am foolish for wanting a Chinese author of a Chinese book for a Chinese audience to cater to my English monolingualism; I am chuckling about my folly). Have I missed any other details about the method?
- Have you convinced others, outside of yourself and your co-author (perhaps family or friends) to switch to the YES method? Was there anything that especially convinced them? Is interest confined only to Mandarin speakers? How intense is the overall advocacy, and by what means? Is there an organization promoting this method?
- Are there any disadvantages to the YES method, or it least false disadvantages that an ignorant person might think is there? The method's merits are obvious to me- I just wonder why other people are missing it. Japanese writers would benefit from such a system, as well as non-Mandarin speakers, so I am confused why after 10 years since the 2015 conference paper I have only now heard of this method. (Thank you for creating the Wikipedia article, I would not have found it otherwise!).
- Would you prefer that foreigners using Chinese characters in bibliographic citations of Chinese-language documents also switch to this method of sorting?
- How long did it take you and your coauthor to devise this method? Why undertake this to begin with? If you were a faculty member, you could have done many things with your time, why this? Orthographic changes are often slow and difficult to disseminate (though this one seems easy and obvious to me), so the fact you undertook making this method shows dedication and long-term interest.
- Again, I apologize if this is too many questions. Are there any English language resources I can use to learn further? PhalanxDown (talk) 03:20, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe, you can learn more about YES by the YES-CEDICT Chinese Dictionary, which is written in English and sorted by both simplified and traditional Chinese characters. (click the 2 PDF links in the references to open)
- The YES-CEDICT Chinese Dictionary (一二三漢英大詞典, Trial Edition, Sorted by Traditional Chinese, a Chinese–English dictionary of over 110,000 word entries). [1]
- The YES-CEDICT Chinese Dictionary (一二三汉英大词典, Trial Edition, Sorted by Simplified Chinese, a Chinese–English dictionary of over 110,000 word entries). [2]
- Ctxz2323 (talk) 02:16, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- The dictionary is excellent. Thank you! PhalanxDown (talk) 03:07, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- You are welcome. And thank you for your interest. Ctxz2323 (talk) 06:01, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- One final question, now that I remember it: the latinization scholars I mentioned before claimed that Chinese writers forget how to write Chinese characters if they do not physically hand-write the Chinese characters enough. They claim that the muscle memory of writing Chinese characters aids the recollection of Chinese characters. They call the forgetting of Chinese characters "Character Amnesia". They claim this is worsens when people use phonetic inputs for computing. Do you know if people who use the YES method avoid or mitigate Character Amnesia?
- I am very grateful for your time answering my questions. Thank you! PhalanxDown (talk) 16:42, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- YES should be able to help avoid character amnesia, since it helps people to write Chinese characters in standard stroke orders. However, I haven't made such experiments yet.
- Thanks. Ctxz2323 (talk) 23:17, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Article Chinese character orders will help you to see the differences of YES comparing with the traditional methods. Ctxz2323 (talk) 23:26, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- You are welcome. And thank you for your interest. Ctxz2323 (talk) 06:01, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- The dictionary is excellent. Thank you! PhalanxDown (talk) 03:07, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Q4: I think logographic writing like Chinese writing is equal, or superior to, alphabetic writing, but the best scholarship I could find about logographic writing like Chinese is decisively negative.
- A: Hope so, and thanks. Ctxz2323 (talk) 01:31, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- Q5: Another of the criticisms against Chinese characters is the inability to make or the great difficulty to disseminate new Chinese characters. Would the YES sorting order be able to accommodate new Chinese characters? Do or would Chinese people make new characters?
- A: I think, YES can deal with it, because Chinese characters are made of components with their existing stroke orders. There will be few new Chinese characters, as many linguistic needs can be met by making new words composed of multiple existing characters. Ctxz2323 (talk) 01:40, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. Let me answer your questions one by one.
- Q1: Is there a YES stroke-input method (IME)? I was surprised I could not find one, given the intuitiveness of the method.
- A: Yes, I developed one a few years ago in the form of a website, but have not found a proper place to upload it yet. It is a simple app allowing the input of a stroke order code from a YES soft keyboard and output the matched Chinese CJK character(s). In most cases, you can quickly find your target Chinese character after keying in 5 strokes or less, which is, I believe, more straightforward than the Stroke-and-radical lookup tool on the Unicode website. - Please read carefully what I wrote. Nobody can verify that he is a highly cited scientist, and the list above is not relevant; you have to make the article convincing. You need to find a way to verify that he us notable on the page. You cannot give a list of publications, or just state something. If you persuaded him to create a Google Scholar profile or a Scopus Profile those would work.
- Please don't respond here giving me information, that is not verification. Ldm1954 (talk) 02:25, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Strategic Study of CAE
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Strategic Study of CAE requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, as it exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia and output must be carefully checked. For further information, see the section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally – if you would like to create an article but find it difficult, please ask for help at the Teahouse. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 18:07, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Categories: Chinese Academy of Engineering
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Categories: Chinese Academy of Engineering requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Thanks for your contributions to Strategic Study of CAE. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it consists of machine-generated text. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 10:53, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Lutheran Theological Seminary (Hong Kong) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Lutheran Theological Seminary (Hong Kong), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, as it exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review.
--Gurkubondinn (talk) 09:35, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- The Copilot text has been deleted, though it was for further review and editing. Ctxz2323 (talk) 09:49, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- That is both demonstrably false and missing the point. Please stop using LLMs, and write your Wikipedia contributions yourself. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 09:55, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- Are you sure Copilot can not be used at all? Or it can be used under conditions? Ctxz2323 (talk) 10:08, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- I am very sure that these tools are all completely unsuitable for use on Wikipedia, especially by users who are otherwise not able to write their Wikipedia contributions themselves. You also did not explain why you made a demonstrably false claim. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 10:13, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- "demonstrably false claim"?
- Check the editing history of the page, and you will see my "undo" process.
- However, your reminding words have been helpful, thanks. Ctxz2323 (talk) 11:01, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- This paragraph was insert in Diff/1333517997 but it still present in the draft at Permalink/1333530434:
The Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council (ADCSC; Chinese: 国务院学位委员会) is the highest administrative body responsible for academic degrees in the People’s Republic of China. It operates under the State Council and oversees the national system of academic degrees, including the authorization, supervision, and evaluation of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. The committee functions as a central policymaking and regulatory institution for graduate education and academic standards across Chinese higher education.
— Diff/1333517997- You undid the edit with the emojis in Diff/1333531148, did you maybe get those two mixed up? The other WP:AITELLS (the byte sequence, hallucinated
{{cite web}}parameters and literal[1]
/[2]
) are still present in the draft. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 11:24, 18 January 2026 (UTC)- Yes, I got them mixed up. The other one, which you displayed above, has been deleted as well.
- Now, all the texts from Copilot are deleted, can you please take away the "Speedy deletion" label from the draft? Thanks. Ctxz2323 (talk) 23:40, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you, and I will AGF and take your word for it. I am not at a computer right now, but feel free to remove the
{{db-llm}}tag yourself. Just link to this conversation in the edit summary. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 23:52, 18 January 2026 (UTC) - Managed to hack it off using my phone, figured it was better to get it done to avoid a WP:REFUND request later. :) --Gurkubondinn (talk) 00:13, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

Asia Lutheran Seminary moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Asia Lutheran Seminary. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Mccapra (talk) 23:56, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
- I will improve it, thank you! Ctxz2323 (talk) 00:42, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
