With a background in investigative journalism, public affairs, and politics, she has worked across media, corporate, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial sectors. As an Emmy® Award-winning investigative reporter, her instinct was always to get to the heart of the story and to understand what it meant for the people living inside it. She rushed into crises, dug beneath the surface, and connected with individuals in ways that made their stories not just heard, but felt.
From the crackle of police radios to the flash of red and blue lights against rain-slicked streets, Ann was often at the center of unfolding events. She leapt into a Black Hawk helicopter with a governor just hours after a Category 5 hurricane tore through a community, surveying wreckage and connecting with stranded survivors on the ground. She charged into raging wildfires alongside firefighters on the back of an ATV, racing to monitor fire lines and protect communities. Ann did not just report on chaos. She lived it, witnessed it, and made sure those stories were captured with accuracy, humanity, and consequence.
Amid a gang-related shooting at an MLK parade and family festival, Ann ran toward active gunfire as shots rang out and chaos unfolded around her. She zigzagged across the country, from Capitol Hill to small rural communities, covering stories that mattered. She confronted child predators terrorizing neighborhoods, uncovered the human toll of a devastating coal ash spill that blanketed a community, and exposed how failing emergency medical alert systems put lives at risk. She also reported on institutions and leaders working to solve complex problems, from public health initiatives and medical breakthroughs to policy decisions shaping communities and industries. From courthouse steps documenting double murder trials to reporting inside prisons on how offenders continued to victimize people beyond their sentences, Ann did not stand at a distance. She went where the story lived, with one mission: to give voice to the people who needed it most.
That investigative work now shapes her approach to executive coaching, leadership advisory, and brand strategy. Ann understands that great communication is not just about the message. It is about connection, credibility, and what holds up under pressure. Whether the story involves a complex medical breakthrough, a personal journey of survival, or an organization’s mission to transform an industry, she is drawn to the heart of it. As the founder of Dux Communications, Ann works with global executives, entrepreneurs, and high achievers to refine their messaging, elevate thought leadership, and craft narratives so their communication holds in everyday moments and when the stakes are highest.
Ann’s transition into corporate communications came with a profound sense of purpose. As Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Health System, Ann led strategic communications and media efforts during the period in which the organization was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s top 50 cancer centers for the first time. The milestone was deeply personal. Years earlier, Ann had been a patient at Sylvester, where the doctors who later became her colleagues had saved her life.
Today, Ann blends storytelling discipline with executive coaching and leadership development, partnering with leaders across industries including healthcare, finance, legal, technology, and high-end fashion. She holds a Global Executive MBA from the University of Miami, degrees from Boston University and American University in Journalism, Politics, and Public Affairs, and is an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) as well as an EQ-i 2.0 and EQ360 practitioner. Her work integrates strategic clarity, emotional intelligence, and an ethic of responsible influence to help leaders communicate with confidence, credibility, and authenticity.
In addition to her advisory and coaching work, Ann is a trusted moderator, emcee, and host for leadership forums, conferences, and virtual events. She brings calm authority and human depth to complex, high-stakes conversations. Known for being thoughtful, honest, and grounded, Ann creates space for dialogue that moves beyond surface-level exchange. Whether on stage, on camera, or in virtual rooms, she guides conversations with clarity, presence, and restraint, elevating discussion while honoring the shared humanity in the room.
Ann serves on the board of Achieve Miami and on the Women United Executive Committee for United Way Miami, where she previously co-chaired the Young Leaders group, leading more than 600 young professionals. Her board service reflects a commitment to strong governance, thoughtful leadership, and the responsible use of communication to build trust and alignment within organizations and communities.
