The video games industry is going through turbulent times. I feel for the people affected by the waves hitting games right now.   While I have no life raft to offer, I do have work worth doing.   At Cloud Imperium we're building StarEngine : and right now some of the hardest problems in real-time simulation are on our table. Planetary-scale rendering, Large worlds. Server meshing thousands of players into a single shared persistent world. A full modernization of our animation engine, tools & pipelines. These aren't theoretical, they're what our teams are solving today, and personally, it's the most exciting engineering I've been part of.   We're growing in areas where deep expertise is rare:   Graphics and VFX: All things rendering, GI, PT, RT (Manchester) Animation Engine, Tools & Pipelines: We're looking for an experienced Animation Technical Director to lead this engine modernization (Frankfurt) Networking & Online: Server meshing & Online services (Manchester / Montreal) Cloud Ops, Platform & AI: Operating distributed systems at scale (Montreal / Austin) Gameplay Programming: The heart and soul of our games (Manchester / Montreal)   All roles are on-site.
