If you’ve noticed crypto exchanges in the EU promoting deposit bonuses, cashback or “refer‑a‑friend” campaigns, while CFD brokers avoid such incentives, that’s not a marketing decision. It’s a regulatory one. Under MiFID II, retail CFD marketing is subject to ESMA’s product intervention measures and national rules, such as those of CySEC. These rules prohibit incentives aimed at attracting or retaining retail CFD clients, including: Deposit bonuses and deposit‑matching offers Rebates, free trades or similar trading incentives Gifts, prizes and referral rewards linked to CFD trading The point is simple: such incentives can encourage excessive trading, increase risk taking, and create conflicts with investor protection objectives. MiCA takes a different approach. While the EU’s crypto asset framework imposes strict requirements that marketing be fair, clear and not misleading, it does not contain an explicit EU‑wide prohibition on deposit bonuses, cashback campaigns, transfer rewards or prize draws for crypto asset services. In practice: MiFID II (retail CFDs): Bonus advertising is prohibited. MiCA (crypto‑asset services): Bonus advertising may be permitted, subject to marketing rules and supervisory scrutiny. Note that NCAs can still challenge or restrict specific practices. For firms operating under both regimes, the compliance challenge is clear. Many groups either avoid bonus campaigns altogether or maintain a strict separation between CFD and crypto offerings. The key question is no longer: “Can we run a bonus campaign?” It’s: “Which regulatory regime applies, and what does our regulator expect?” #MiFIDII #MiCA #CySEC #CryptoRegulation #Compliance #Fintech #Trading #EURegulation #CryptoAssets #FinancialServices

Launch window: Monday, 8:15 a.m. ET from Starbase, Texas. FAA authorization is confirmed. Starship will deploy 26 Starlink V3 satellites on the way up. Starlink is SpaceX's only profitable business segment. Musk has said it could carry the majority of the world's internet traffic. A successful orbital mission validates the entire Starship architecture that the $2 trillion valuation is built on. This is the rocket designed to lift more cargo at lower cost than anything ever built. Fully reusable. If it works, the competitive moat just became a canyon. Does this put SpaceX's dominance in satellite internet completely out of reach?

Last week, I visited northern Cyprus with my dad. Mum couldn’t face doing so. I last went when I was a child, so I didn’t remember much. This time was different. We visited the villages where my parents were born and raised (Ayios Andronikos and Yialoussa). Since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, their homes have been occupied or left abandoned; Greek churches have been destroyed and icons stolen. Seeing this with my own eyes was incredibly difficult. I can’t imagine how it felt for dad. In dad’s village, we visited his home (which is now occupied by another family), what’s left of the cemetery where my grandfather is buried, dad’s school and also where he learnt his trade as a barber. Famagusta, known as the “Ghost Town”, was especially eerie. Bombed and abandoned hotels, left untouched for decades, standing against some of the most beautiful shores I have ever seen. And yet, amongst all the sadness, there was sheer beauty. I don’t think I have ever swum in a sea so clear and beautiful. To experience that moment with my dad, in the place where our family’s story began, is something I will never forget for as long as I live. We salespeople have heard these thousands of times: "Allow us a few weeks, we'll get back." When your prospect says this, it usually means they want more time or they're stalling the deal. Sharing a real action point for whenever a prospect or client says they'll get back to you. For eg: Ask for their calendar access and block a slot right then and there. It pushes them to make the call faster, because you've moved the decision up in their mind, and they share their final answer on your next follow-up call.
