I grew up in a family where patriotism was a value shared around the dinner table. I studied at Harvard and worked at Meta and Goldman in the U.S., but I always knew I would come home. For years I've been frustrated by how far behind our region has fallen. We've missed nearly every wave of innovation of the last 40 years, not because our people lack talent or ambition, but because every wave asked our enterprises to spend millions replacing their current systems, with no clear return. 90% of LatAm enterprises still run on-prem, some with interfaces that haven't changed since the 1990s. Primero is the AI transformation company for Latin America's largest enterprises. We make AI work inside companies that were never built for it: (1) Connect. Our platform, Primia, connects directly to a company's legacy systems, from ERP to CRM to inventory, creating a layer that can read and write across software that was never designed to talk. (2) Centralize. We turn decades of scattered data into one clean picture of how the business actually works, including the tribal knowledge that’s lived inside employees’ heads. (3) Deploy. On that foundation, we build and deploy custom AI agents across the organization that take on the work moving the bottom line, from credit to pricing to fraud. We put our own engineers inside the enterprise to build the first workflow alongside their team, then expand into additional modules. Bogota seems to be fine overall because it didn’t get hit as hard, but other regions did not have the same luck. We have people looking for their families under destroyed buildings. We have affected communities and hospitals. And all of the aftermath that comes with it. For those who’ve have a Colombian in their lifes, or have traveled to Colombia, or who are simply wondering how to help in the way that suits you best: Sebastián Solarte Caicedo created a reliable document to centralize the many ways you can support Colombia after the earthquake. https://lnkd.in/eAHdQKCT It’s split by what you are able to give, right now: - Money - verified accounts, and several of them work from abroad. - In kind - food, water, first-necessity items. - Blood - if you’re in Colombia and can give it. - Time - volunteering opportunities, if that’s what you have. Dime qué estás financiando y te diré cuánto vales. El valor de tu #startup no es lo que hiciste. Es lo que vas a hacer. Y lo que vas a hacer se lee en base a qué estás financiando. Si financias operaciones, el día a día, comunicas que estás en números rojos, es decir, que eres riesgoso y necesitas dinero. Si financias desarrollo, comunicas que tu producto todavía no está listo. Traducción: eres aún más riesgoso. Si financias adquisición de clientes, comunicas que tienes un producto que funciona y quieres crecer y rentabilizar. Traducción: si esto escala, el riesgo valió la pena. Estás invitando a compartir el riesgo y su retorno ya probado. Esa es la conexión que pocos ven. Tu plan de aceleración —qué vas a hacer con el dinero— es lo que define tu riesgo y tu rentabilidad. Y riesgo más rentabilidad es, exactamente, lo que determina cuánto vale tu empresa. No te valorizan por tu potencial en abstracto. Te valorizan por lo que tu plan dice que vas a hacer con el dinero; y si te creen capaz de lograrlo. ¿Qué está financiando tu startup… y qué le está comunicando eso al que te va a valorizar? #Startups #Valorización #VentureCapital #StartupsChile #EBCT #CORFO
