About this Session
The fourth and final session in this video series will consist of a brief review of application requirements and a walkthrough of the submission process. Presenters will use the remainder of the session to address questions of potential applicants in real time.
Session Highlights
During this last Dziuban Award Workshop Series presentation, previous winners of the Chuck D. Dziuban Award for Excellence in Online Teaching, Drs. Amanda Groff, Alisha Janowsky, and Beatriz Reyes-Foster review the application requirements, the submission process, and the evaluation rubric. Some practical suggestions mentioned in this session include:
- Tell your story. (How are you awesome in your online teaching?)
- Be focused. (Shoot for 500 words.)
- Show what you mean. (Feel free to include a short video or a few graphics that helps you make your point.)
- Review the evaluation rubric. (Are you addressing salient points? What are your teaching methods exemplary?)
- Refer to evidence. (Include specific evidence to support your claims, and point to that evidence in your narrative.)
- Focus on the lived experience rather than static course design. (What do you do as an instructor? How do students respond to what you do?)
