Irene Katzela reposted thisIrene Katzela reposted thisNdeipi —Building Africa's Own Bitcoin Inc. with dandelion Blockchain The blockchain revolution has reached the shores of Africa, and we are excited to announce Ndeipi—Africa’s very own Bitcoin, powered by Dandelion Blockchain. This innovative project represents a significant step toward decentralizing and democratizing financial access across the African continent. Why Ndeipi? At the heart of Ndeipi is a bold vision: to create a financial ecosystem that addresses Africa's unique challenges—high remittance costs, low financial inclusion, and volatile currencies—through a secure and efficient cryptocurrency solution. As a Layer 1 blockchain, Ndeipi is built on the robust foundation of the Dandelion Blockchain, providing scalability, security, and speed, all of which are critical to success in Africa’s growing fintech space. A Texas-Based Fintech with African Ambitions Although Ndeipi is headquartered in Texas, its mission is deeply rooted in solving African financial challenges. With Dandelion Blockchain owning 50% of the venture, the collaboration brings together the best of global fintech expertise and local market understanding. By leveraging Dandelion’s powerful blockchain infrastructure, we are building a scalable, decentralized solution to enable seamless cross-border transactions and financial inclusion for millions of Africans. Empowering Financial Inclusion Africa is home to some of the world’s fastest-growing economies, yet many remain unbanked or underbanked. This gap in financial access is a critical barrier to economic growth and personal empowerment. With Ndeipi, we aim to bridge this gap by providing a decentralized, secure, and accessible cryptocurrency platform. The Power of Partnership Ndeipi’s partnership with Dandelion Blockchain is key to the project’s success. Dandelion’s advanced blockchain technology ensures that Ndeipi can scale efficiently and securely. With Dandelion owning 50% of Ndeipi, this is not just a financial partnership, but a strategic alliance that ensures technical robustness and business agility. In addition to the strong foundation provided by Dandelion, our Texas-based team brings world-class fintech innovation, while our African stakeholders and investors ensure that the solution is tailor-made for Africa’s unique needs. Building Africa's Own Bitcoin Our vision extends beyond simply creating a cryptocurrency. Ndeipi is about establishing Africa’s own Bitcoin—one that is rooted in the values of decentralization, financial inclusion, and trust. We believe in empowering people to take control of their financial futures, and we are committed to ensuring that Ndeipi becomes a beacon of innovation in the African fintech space. Let’s Build Africa’s Financial Future—Together. #Blockchain #Cryptocurrency #Africa #Fintech #DandelionBlockchain #Ndeipi #FinancialInclusion #AfricaBitcoin #Layer1Blockchain #DeFi #Innovation #DecentralizedFinance https://lnkd.in/gXVmXr69

Irene Katzela liked thisIrene Katzela liked thisLast week Columbia Engineering traveled to Greece to support local university engineers in their journey to bring their innovative projects to market - true to its mission “Engineering for Humanity”. In a 3 day bootcamp, Columbia challenged students in Athens to understand the business models of the solution they are building. The inaugural cohort includes 90 students and early-stage researchers, a total of 25 interdisciplinary teams. The future founders were selected from 105+ applications and 400+ candidates across Greece. Engineers are developing products including pain management for rheumatoid arthritis, energy storage and simulations for large scale companies, photonic products for the aerospace sector, waste management for recycling materials, tools to manage Parkinson's, and technologies for global ports to address bottlenecks in cargo turnaround times. Over the next few months, teams will continue to test the market to explore the unique problems customers face as they continue to develop their prototype and derisk the GTM strategy. Select teams will travel to Columbia in June for NY Tech Week to further develop their skills and network with an audience of experts, researchers and mentors - an exciting opportunity to join the global stage and jumpstart their ventures. This initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration across institutions and time zones to unlock entrepreneurial talent in engineering. Congrats to the first cohort of Lab to Market teams! Lab to Market is a new initiative by Columbia Engineering, the National Technical University of Athens, Columbia Global Center Athens, with support by Endeavor Greece, the @Hellenic Institute of Advanced Studies, and the generous sponsorship of the Blavatnik Family Foundation. Recognizing the limitations of current blockchains in the Enterprise arena, I designed and led the team that built Interbit - BTL's private enterprise grade blockchain platform that enables applications to be built, managed, and run on a blockchain with very little understanding required of the mechanics within. Some of the world’s largest institutions are using Interbit to explore new opportunities on private blockchains, in the following sectors: Financial Services, Energy, Registry & Gaming.

What makes Interbit different? Unlike other blockchain platforms, Interbit is extraordinarily lightweight, allows fine-grained access control to keep data private and restricted to particular nodes, and enables scalability through indefinitely extendable blockchain networks. The Interbit blockchain platform facilitates the rapid development of business applications.

About BTL: Operating from both Canada and the UK, BTL offers blockchain solutions to businesses across multiple industries.
