How to play Bridges

• Every island shows a number. It needs exactly that many bridges.
• Bridges run straight across, horizontally or vertically.
• Two islands can share one bridge or two, but never more.
• Bridges can’t cross each other or pass over another island.
• Every island has to end up connected in one group. A board split into separate groups isn’t solved, even if every number is right.

When does a new daily puzzle come out?

Every day at midnight in your own time zone. Daily Mini gets a new puzzle and Daily Max a fresh set of three.

Do I need an account to play?

No. Everything is free to play without signing up. A free account saves your streaks and solve times across devices and unlocks the full archive.

Is Bridges the same as Hashi or Hashiwokakero?

Yes. Bridges, Hashi, Hashiwokakero and “Build Bridges” are all names for the same Japanese logic puzzle, with the same rules.

Does every puzzle have exactly one solution?

Yes. Every puzzle is solved start to finish by our solver before it ships, which proves it has a single solution you can reach by logic alone, with no guessing.

Every island has the right number of bridges. Why isn’t the puzzle solved?

The islands also have to be connected in one group. If every number is right and the puzzle hasn’t finished, your bridges have split the islands into separate groups. Find a group that only connects to itself and move one of its bridges so it joins the rest. The Hint button will show you a bridge that doesn’t belong.
