Lazar Toshkin shared thisMega mobile app architecture if anyone is interested.Lazar Toshkin shared thisLast week I had the pleasure of speaking at Flutter & Friends conference in Stockholm about "LEGO Architecture for Enterprise-Scale #Flutter Applications", sharing our experience of building scalable solutions at Tide 💙 And just when I thought conferences couldn’t surprise me anymore, this one took place in a theatre, so I got to present on a stage with red curtains, golden details, and ornate theatre balconies. Definitely a memorable setting for a tech talk 🤩

Lazar Toshkin shared thisThe percheron, a horse breed that completely dominated early 20th-century agriculture and heavy city transit...Or Volkswagen golf... that's what Google is giving us with Gemini 3.8, a good enough versatile model that given good instructions will give you better than average results at fraction of Sonnet's price.

Lazar Toshkin shared thisIt's always good when you can joke at work. Even more so if you can do it in the official documentation of your API. https://lnkd.in/dvcKHZ_A

Lazar Toshkin shared thisThese days I am most excited about Grok. Not because it is the most exceptional model out there but because it's the best bang for the buck. Grok 4.6 is 50% off until August 19. Try it if you havent!

Lazar Toshkin shared thisHad a realization today. We are currently living through software’s 1913 moment. Before Henry Ford introduced the moving assembly line, cars were built by hand. Master mechanics meticulously crafted every bolt, panel, and piston. A single automobile took more than 12 hours to assemble and cost a fortune. Ford didn't eliminate the need for engineering, he standardized it. The time to build a Model T plummeted from 12 hours to 93 minutes, dropping costs so dramatically that car ownership exploded overnight. Generative AI is doing the exact same thing to code: 🔩 Standardized Parts: Boilerplate, CRUD endpoints, functions are no longer hand-crafted. AI stamps them out like interchangeable machine components. 🏭 Shift in Skills: When manufacturing industrialized, the most valuable person was no longer the guy turning a single wrench fastest. It was the plant manager who understood system flow, bottleneck reduction, and safety controls. 🚨 The Quality Risk: A broken assembly line just mass-produces defective cars faster. In software, AI without senior oversight just generates technical debt at scale. The cost of generating software is collapsing toward zero. But software architecture, problem framing, and quality assurance are more valuable than ever. (Ford asembly line 1913)

Lazar Toshkin posted thisI am trying to deplete my personal Cursor allowance with Grok 4.5. Turns out to be quiet impossible. Happy...

Lazar Toshkin posted thisI think the AI affordability problem is mostly solved with Composer, GLM 5.2, Sonnet 5. One might not need anything else.

Lazar Toshkin reposted thisLazar Toshkin reposted thisI invite everyone to join my talk “LEGO Architecture for Enterprise-Scale #Flutter Applications” at #flutterconUSA26 where we’ll explore an architecture that lets large Flutter applications keep growing without becoming unmanageable, its key implementation aspects, and, most importantly, the foundational principles behind it. See you in Orlando on 16–17 July 2026!

Lazar Toshkin shared thisWhen I was starting my career I was paired to a really good lead. To my surprise he never studied computers. He was a construction engineer. I still consider him to be the best of the best. It was only years later when I realised how much designing software had in common with designing cities and buildings. One of the games that helped me learn is Cities Skylines. Try it if you haven't. Starting is easy but managing to scale up a city without proper design and patterns is a nightmare. Sounds familiar?

I share my raw thoughts in this article on loving the craft of building software and trying to keep your head above water in the era of AI. 🔗 Link below https://lnkd.in/eTJQK_Aq

Lazar Toshkin liked thisLazar Toshkin liked thisOver the last few days, our Tide card has been hammered with fraudulent Uber payments. All but one needed authorisation on app, one somehow slipped through without needing 2fa check. Credit where due, once alerted, tide very quickly (<60mins) cancelled card and refunded the payment. Annoyingly we're still getting rejection notifications from tide saying uber is still trying the stolen card. Im very interested in discovering how uber isnt managing to protect its system from fruad and how widespread this issue is becoming. Big acknowledgement and respect to the folks at tide bank for their professionalism, urgency and ownership to resolve the issue. 10/10
