Frédéric De Vries ✍🏻 shared thisI know plenty of people who are against AI. I don't know anyone who's against less admin. This morning, Teamleader launched Focus AI. AI that makes admin a breeze. AI that translates e-mails into quotes, that chases unpaid invoices, that tells you which clients need some extra love. And the data? That stays on European servers, inside our sandbox. Your customer data trains no American model. Your data stays yours. And yes, once again, we made this campaign with our very own Brand Studio, Teamleader's in-house agency. Massive thanks to my team for delivering, once again. But this time, the real credit goes to the product team. After thirty years in advertising, I've rarely had this much product behind a promise. Think I'm overpromising it here? Click the link in the comments and call my bluff. I dare you.

Frédéric De Vries ✍🏻 shared this"Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right: here I am, stuck in the middle with you." These unforgettable lyrics from Stealers Wheel are as old as yours truly. Yet 'stuck in the middle' is the reality for most agencies today. They are too large to be niche and too small to benefit from the economies of scale. However, some agencies stuck in that very middle (15 to 30 FTEs) are actually thriving. The key to their success? Some razor sharp strategic choices. Which choices? That's one of the many things you'll learn in the latest edition of Agency Life Magazine by Teamleader. This edition is content-heavier than ever: 173 pages. Theme of nr. 5? A SWOT analysis of our beloved sector. Because yes, the times they-are-a-challenging. But also yes: there are definitely opportunities for agencies. Order your copy via the link in the comments. Did I mention it's free? Thanks to everybody involved. Special mention for Tijs Dejonckheere, Louise Haspeslagh, Peter Van Wijnaerde and Loïc Ghysels : you've once again outdone yourselves!

Frédéric De Vries ✍🏻 reposted thisFrédéric De Vries ✍🏻 reposted this✨ Focus AI ✨ is gelanceerd en zit vanaf nu in Teamleader Focus! Waarom? Frédéric De Vries ✍🏻 shared thisThe timing couldn't be better: while most of the country is rooting for our Red Devils at the World Cup, we won bronze at the Creative Belgium Awards for the Pfaff Collar Comeback. If you're a bit like me, you don't win bronze. You lose silver. And if you win silver, you lose gold. Yet, I'm incredibly proud of this one. Because of the agency name in the credits: the Teamleader Brand Studio. Let me explain. We are not really an agency in the classical sense. We're a small team of designers, copywriters, a project manager and yours truly. Our mission is simple: create marketing materials for our colleagues at Teamleader. You can throw pretty much anything at us: we design booths for trade events, make radio commercials, do video shoots, outdoor print campaigns, social ads, write e-books or publish a magazine: if we believe it can bring us leads, we will probably do it. And honnestly: we're pretty good at it. Our Brand Studio is the leanest and meanest production machine I've witnessed. In. My. Entire. Career. Last Friday however, we showed the world that we can do even are more than that. By bringing back the most iconic advertising space, we stood our ground between Belgium's finest creative agencies. Even Jean-Marie Pfaff couldn't have wished for better team mates to pull this off. So, for once, bronze is a win. One that shines brighter than any gold I've ever held.

Frédéric De Vries ✍🏻 shared thisJust before I started working for Teamleader I asked Jeroen De Wit a stupid question. "Why do you organise Work Smarter yourselves? It's not your core business. Let an agency handle it. Focus on what you're good at: building business software." He just laughed. "Come this year. Ask me again after." So I went. Sold-out Kuipke. Four live stages. With headphones that allow you to switch between the stages whenever you want. A live Peppol demo — in the Team Visma l Lease a Bike team bus. Exciting presentations galore. Screen animations that looked more like a Coldplay show than a business conference. This wasn't a business event. This was a festival. The energy. The crowd. The noise. Smiles on the Entrepreneurs' faces. Old advertising friends on and off the Agency Life stage. A former colleague who came up to me and said: "This year, I chose between attending an advertising award show or coming to Work Smarter. And here I am." That's when I got it. You can't outsource this. This is Teamleader. This is teambuilding in the true sense of the word. This year, I'm living it from within. And we're going even bigger. New location. KAA Gent stadium. We're pouring every last drop of blood, sweat and tears into making this the best edition yet. And I, I want it to be the Woodstock of business festivals. (Granted: minus the bad LSD warnings.) If you think I'm exagerating it, I challenge you to just come. You too will understand after. 👉 [see comments for tickets]

Men roept me toe: "Kies je onderwerp. Bouw je personal brand. Wees consistent. Volg de formule." Saaaai.

Frédéric De Vries ✍🏻 liked thisFrédéric De Vries ✍🏻 liked thisAs a Marketing Manager, there's one thing I love more than launching a campaign: when your customers practically write it for you. And that's exactly what's happening with our latest launch at Teamleader Orbit. Few weeks ago, we've released our MCP interface, allowing agencies to connect Orbit to the AI tools they already use. And honestly? It's a game changer. Imagine asking AI to identify overbooked teams, automatically update hundreds of projects, or build next week's capacity plan. And actually getting it done. But here's where it gets particularly exciting for me: We're sitting on a Marketing goldmine. Hundreds of enthusiastic customer reactions, unexpected use cases, and real stories of agencies saving hours (sometimes days!) of manual work. And the best part? We didn't have to invent these stories. Our customers are discovering them faster than we can turn them into campaigns. That's what I love about marketing: when the product delivers so much value that your biggest challenge becomes deciding which customer story to tell first. Curious to see what's getting everyone so excited? Here's what we've been building (and what agencies are already doing with it): https://lnkd.in/encH_tzP Now excuse me, we have about 100 campaign ideas to turn into reality. 💡

The problems are more complex than ever: scheduling teams instead of individual technicians, taking spare part availability into account, planning multi-day jobs, and re-planning live as the day unfolds. A solver is no longer an overnight batch job. It needs to respond in seconds when reality changes. You'll find us all around the event. If you're working on scheduling, routing or dispatch challenges, we'd love to talk. Our optimization engine is built for exactly this kind of complexity, and it integrates with the field service management tools you already use, or the big platforms like ServiceNow and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service. A special shout-out to the Belgian startups here, including Highsail, for helping shape the future of field service. Proud to see our small country so well represented. 🇧🇪 Send me or Eric a message and let's grab a coffee before the event wraps up. #FieldService #FSAmsterdam #RouteOptimization #Scheduling #ServiceNow #Dynamics365

AI is no longer an experiment. It’s part of the job. In De Standaard, our CEO Sammy Colson talks openly about how AI is reshaping the agency world. It helps us move faster, explore more ideas and create in entirely new ways. But it also comes with serious costs and challenges the traditional agency model. Fortunately, the ability to adapt is inherent to agencies like ours. We continuously bring together new technology, human creativity and strategic thinking to respond to a changing world. AI can now generate full campaigns. Design the ad. Pick the headline. Probably argue with you about the tone of voice. Cool. But there’s one thing it still can’t do. Make someone feel like they belong. That tiny switch where a buyer becomes a fan. A supplier becomes a defender. A colleague becomes a walking billboard. That’s where marketing actually starts working. You have AI, we use A-we Actual humans who feel part of the story. At Agristo that’s the real engine. Customers cheering when we launch something. Partners sending us pictures wearing our merch. Colleagues explaining our story better than the marketing team. Once that happens something beautiful appears. Outsourced marketing. People carrying the story because they want to, not because they were targeted. The most effective media channel I've found so far is humans who give a damn.

Last week, Maureen and Marie attended WorkSmarter (Teamleader), and left with plenty of food for thought. Here are four key takeaways that stood out: 💡 AI adoption starts with experimentation. Hans Verhoeven (iVOX) showed that creating space for people to explore and "play" with AI is often more effective than chasing perfect use cases from day one. 🤝 Human connection matters more than ever. As Paul Joustra highlighted, people continue to crave authentic interactions, making the balance between automation and human touch increasingly important. 🎯 Efficiency is not a differentiator. Kristel Vanderlinden reminded us that while AI can make us faster, cultural relevance, creativity and a distinctive point of view are what truly set brands apart. 🇧🇪 Local relevance is a competitive advantage. Bram Elewaut's insights and the Foodbag story demonstrated how strong values and authentic local positioning can drive impressive growth, even in markets dominated by international players. See you next year!

After my last post about the shift we’re seeing in the marketing landscape: "Brands choosing to show up differently and actually getting results from it." We received several questions about how we approach these challenges with our clients. One of them led to an interview where I walked through our way of working and how we bring this thinking to life in real projects. Check the link to the article in the comments which gives a great behind-the-scenes look at what we do and why it works.
