  • The Bundaberg Regional Aquatic Centre has delivered a state-of-the-art heated pool to promote sports, health and recreation in the region. Sitting within the new Bundaberg Health Park, which also includes the existing Megaplex and TAFE Queensland, this new precinct will facilitate special events, as well as everyday health and fitness activities for the community. Arcadia delivered the concourse and café layout as well as the landscape for the Aquatic Centre, using a strategy that signifies the ecological pre-settlement nature throughout the low-lying wetland ecologies and waterways of the region. With a largely Indigenous planting strategy for the café and grassed spectator area within, the entrance and new car park, stormwater systems have been designed to mimic ephemeral creeks. Congratulations to everyone who worked on this project. • Arcadia was delighted to sponsor and attend the UDIA NSW Central Coast Luncheon yesterday. It was great to listen to the discussions focused on the future of the Central Coast and its continued growth. Minister Hon. Jenny Aitchison MP spoke about infrastructure demand and securing the Central Coast’s share of road funding, with a collaborative, evidence-based approach to support growth. Jason Yeo outlined the UDIA Central Coast Building Blocks report, looking at the link between upfront funding and the delivery and acceleration of developments. Thank you to UDIA NSW for organising this informative event.  Chris Tidswell, Jack Stevenson, Annabel Lydon

  • Here's some really great advice from Arcadia's Daniel Robinson about how to shape a CV and portfolio that will land you an interview. From Principal to Student Landscape Technicians, we have roles to suit people at all stages of their career in a range of great locations. Six weeks in at Arcadia Landscape Architecture. 16 interviews. Four hires in the last two weeks. One clear takeaway: Australia’s landscape architecture community is filled with passionate, thoughtful, talented people. After reviewing hundreds of portfolios, two things consistently separate the strongest candidates: 1) The story behind the work. A portfolio isn’t a gallery. It’s a narrative. What inspired the idea? How did you interpret the brief? What shaped your decisions? Clear thinking and confident storytelling create instant impact. 2) Clarity on your contribution. Beautiful images are only half the picture. What did you lead? What did you design, coordinate or resolve? Where did you move the needle? Your impact is your differentiator. Portfolios and CVs often shape decisions in seconds, sometimes before the first call. At Arcadia, our Founder and Managing Director, Alex Longley, often reviews portfolios directly! If you’re updating your portfolio or CV, ask yourself: • What story am I telling?  • What have I been directly responsible for delivering?  • Would I be confident if this were presented to the Managing Director? It’s been an energising start to the year. If you’d like feedback, a second pair of eyes or more info on our open positions, please reach out to me directly. Team sport + great people + Aperol = perfect combo 🙌😍

Last week, our Sydney studio got into a bit of a pickle - Pickleball that is. We served up Arcadia’s inaugural Pickleball Tournament, with every team dressing the part; the outfits were as competitive as the rallies. From coordinated kits to some questionable fashion choices, the courts were full of colour and plenty of laughs. After some action-packed games, one team were awarded the championship title and trophy! Congratulations Ryan Lewis, Christoph Kaufmann, Josh Kehal and Rudy Midya on the win. Thanks to everyone for making it a fun night.   Michael Barnett, Alex Longley

  • The Manning by Mosaic reflects Milton’s energy, character, and enduring appeal as one of Brisbane’s most dynamic inner-city neighbourhoods. Completed in August 2025, The Manning includes 113 residences over 22 levels. Residents enjoy a landscaped rooftop terrace with a pool, relaxation lawn, BBQ and dining spaces, and spectacular views of the city and river. Arcadia was engaged to create a contemporary landscape that connects people to place. Blurring the lines between the natural and built form at the street frontage was central to establishing the tone for an opulent landscape design throughout the development. This approach draws the community into the ground-floor cafe, activating the public realm and creating a lively atmosphere within this inner-city suburb, while fostering a strong sense of connection within the building and the wider local area. The generous subtropical planting aesthetic ensures that the local Brisbane planting character is integrated into the built form, creating a recognisable and lush landscape for residents and visitors to experience. The Manning by Mosaic incorporates the character of the area's historical buildings with the modern city aesthetic to ensure the local community embraces the development as part of the Milton identity.  With a strong focus on sustainability, The Manning by Mosaic is not only beautiful and functional, but also kind to the environment.
