Diego Ferraggine ha compartido estoAfter several years at Galileo, I decided to take some time to close an important chapter of my career, recharge a bit, and thoughtfully reflect on what I want my next challenge to be. During these years, I had the opportunity to lead amazing teams, build critical platforms, and work on systems that impact millions of users every day. But probably the most valuable part was learning how to support people, help teams grow, and navigate change, challenges, and uncertainty together. Now I’m feeling energized and excited to start a new chapter, and I’m open to opportunities as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership roles, especially in product-driven companies, fintech, platforms, or teams working on interesting technical challenges. I’m particularly interested in staying close to engineering while helping build strong teams, healthy cultures, and products that create real impact. Diego Ferraggine ha compartido estoHace 12 años corría mi primera maratón. No sabía exactamente qué estaba buscando, solo intuía que había algo valioso del otro lado del esfuerzo sostenido. Antes de ayer crucé la meta de mi maratón número 13, con 46 años, y entendí que, en muchos sentidos, mi vida profesional siguió el mismo recorrido. Una maratón no se gana en la largada. Se construye en silencio: en los entrenamientos invisibles, en las mañanas frías, en aprender a administrar energía, frustración y paciencia. Liderar equipos de ingeniería se parece mucho a eso. No alcanza con correr rápido; hay que sostener el ritmo, adaptarse cuando el plan cambia y seguir avanzando incluso cuando aparecen el cansancio, la incertidumbre o los kilómetros más duros. Como Engineering Manager, aprendí que el liderazgo no consiste en ir siempre adelante, sino en ayudar a otros a llegar más lejos. Igual que en una maratón, hay momentos donde el cuerpo duda y la cabeza pesa, pero también están esos instantes donde todo encuentra sentido: cuando un equipo madura, cuando un proyecto crítico sale bien, cuando alguien crece gracias al espacio que ayudaste a construir. Las maratones me enseñaron disciplina, resiliencia y humildad. La ingeniería me enseñó colaboración, adaptación y confianza. En ambos caminos descubrí lo mismo: las cosas realmente importantes rara vez ocurren de golpe. Se construyen paso a paso, kilómetro a kilómetro, decisión tras decisión. Y quizás por eso sigo corriendo. Porque todavía me emociona demostrarme que siempre existe una versión más fuerte, más paciente y más consciente de uno mismo esperando algunos kilómetros más adelante.

When I joined, I had way more doubts than certainties. I was coming from almost 10 years working at the same company, with the same people (who had already become friends), the same manager, building things very much my own way, and in a completely different type of business. I was very comfortable there, and the uncertainty of making such a big change sometimes made me question my decision. I even remember thinking: “I don’t think I’ll make friends again at work.” (Spoiler alert: I was wrong 🤣) But as soon as I started, I realized that I was not only stepping into a very exciting professional challenge, but also joining an incredible team. One year later, I still feel like I have so much to learn and many challenges ahead, and honestly, that motivates me even more to keep building alongside this team. And now HR is no longer a one-person team. Allanis Santos joined to support the growth of an area that is just getting started, and working with someone who understands you and is moving in the same direction is incredibly valuable. Thanks Alli for being such an amazing teammate (A team 💙) I would love to thank every single person because everyone across Prosigliere is special in their own way. But to avoid making this post eternal 😅, I’ll mention the people I work most closely with every day: Fernando Alberto Torija for the initial trust. Hoy me toca compartir un paso más en ese camino, que siempre fue un faro en cada paso en mi carrera y que es emocionante poder cumplirlo: asumo un nuevo desafío como Socia en EY. Más que un logro individual, lo siento como el resultado de un recorrido colectivo. Nada de esto sería posible sin las personas que me acompañaron: equipos increíbles, colegas, líderes que confiaron, y clientes con los que construimos juntos. También es una oportunidad para reafirmar por qué elegí este camino: por el desafío constante, por el aprendizaje continuo y por la posibilidad de trabajar con personas increíbles todos los días para dar forma al futuro con confianza. Gracias a quienes confiaron en mí y me acompañaron en el camino y a mi familia y amigos, por estar siempre, por el sostén en cada etapa y por celebrar cada logro como propio. Y pasó todo tan r��pido que nos pareció especial traer una recapitulación de esas jornadas. Encuentro entre nuestros/as estudiantes, docentes, nodocentes, investigadores/as y graduados/as; plantamos árboles, inauguramos el hito por los 60 años, compartimos un acto protocolar que quedará en la memoria por las palabras brindadas, el logo de Exa con graduados/as y en el nuevo pabellón, y coronamos con la presentación del libro "Formar para transformar". Brindamos por lo que hicimos y por lo que somos capaces de hacer como comunidad que se proyecta al futuro con la certeza de una historia tan potente 🥂

Luego de haberme tomado algunos días para rodearme de mucho amor y recargar energías, ya me siento listo para esta nueva etapa que se viene. Después de 5 años hermosos, llenos de desafíos y muchísimo crecimiento en Technisys / Galileo / SoFi, de los cuales estaré eternamente agradecido, se me comunicó la finalización de mi contrato laboral como parte de una situación que está afectando a la compañía y a muchos de mis compañeros. Me tomo esta situación como una gran oportunidad para buscar nuevos desafíos e incluso experimentar nuevos roles que me permitan seguir descubriendo la informática desde otras perspectivas. Para los que no me conocen soy Ingeniero de Software, especializado en core bancario. Trabajé en diferentes equipos ágiles participando en el desarrollo de APIs, microservicios, aplicaciones JAVA, y algo de proyectos con React. Disfruto mucho el diseño de soluciones, la coordinación de equipos y la gestión de proyectos (esto último es algo que especialmente me entusiasma seguir explorando). Si conocen oportunidades donde mi perfil pueda encajar, les voy a agradecer de corazón cualquier recomendación, referencia y/o contacto. También, si trabajaron conmigo, una referencia en mi perfil me ayudaría bastante! Como dice mi banda favorita, siguiendo una analogía futbolera: "Si nos echan jugadores, corramos más".
